Hi Sarah loved seeing WIP's, and your new starts. There beautiful. I always enjoy seeing your progress in stitching. Hoping you and your family are safe from the CA fires. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
Hi Sarah! I’m been thinking of you in reference to the fires going on in CA. I don’t know in what area your family resides, but I pray that y’all are safe. Prayers for y’all all everyone affected by this tragedy 🙏❤🙏
@@sandykamenicky5071 Thank you! We’re safe - kind of in a pocket just outside of everything. Blue skies and no smoke. It’s a blessing, but strange to think of all the destruction happening so nearby.
Happy New Year! I really like "The End of the Ball," so I was happy to see some real progress on this one. Yes, the antiquities have dark backgrounds, but they are so rich, so saturated in deep colors that they are stunning. Keep the faith.
Thanks for the floss tube,,, it's always nice seeing you,,,love the sparkle fabric on your Christmas band sampler , I am looking forward to seeing your projects, happy stitching
Happy New Year! You have such an interesting variety of WIPs Sarah. Have fun with your stitching. I never thought of listening to something while I stitch. Might be a good idea. I suppose you could sort of get on a roll with a project.
@@KelleysQuiltsandCruises Oh yes! I’m almost always listening to something while I stitch. Either the Bible, a podcast, or most often, Flosstube! I wish we had your weather here in Louisville Kentucky. Today it’s 23 F. Plus we got between 7-9 inches of snow on Sunday. I hate cold weather and snow/ice with a passion.
@ I don’t want to live in California not ever😂😂😂 I just want your weather. We are having a heat wave today. It’s up to 31 F and we have snow flurries. The snow on the ground is up to 12 inches. It’s been snowing off and on since January 4. I can’t even get to my mailbox. I tried Sunday and fell. Luckily I managed to get up but not trying that again. I need to find someone to at least clear a path to my mailbox. I’m 74 and trying to shovel to the mailbox isn’t happening 😂😂😂
Thank you for responding to my question about the temperature chart on Etsy Sarah….i did find the degree options and have discovered that where I live the temperature range is always wider so I am collecting my temperatures and reworking the degree options but I am so looking forward to exploring all of the specialty stitches. Thank you for this design. 🦉🧵🪡👍
if I was doing the 'most amout of stitches' thing I think I'd take the most stitches, do half of it, and then move on to the new most stitches, if that makes sense. that way I won't end up doing one or two stitches of a color before switching to another colors.
@@WritingStitches I never stop a color after just a couple stitches if there are more in the area. What I would do in this example is stitch at least a whole thread’s worth of stitches in the color with the most stitches. If it’s still the color with the most stitches when that thread is done, I’ll do another length of thread in that color. Continuing on until the color is no longer the one with the most stitches after a length of thread is stitched. If there are several colors with a very similar amount of stitches left, the current color could drop down several places once a length of thread is complete - especially on 40ct over 1! 😄
@@StitchinMommy I understand, that does clears it up. out of curiosity, how long is a length for you? I know there are different lengths. mine is an 1/8 of a skein
@ My “length” can vary as well. For DMC, I usually cut a 4 foot length, which I’ll either double with a loop start for 2 strands or cut in half for 1 strand. Although sometimes when stitching on 40ct over 1 I’ll cut a quarter off the long length and just use 12”, cuz that’ll last plenty long before it starts to fray. With hand dyed floss, they’re usually precut at 3 feet, so I’ll either use that length with 2 strands or cut in half for 1 strand.
Hi, Sarah, enjoyed seeing everything you are working on. Where did you get the Celtic Ladies Sampler at? I can't find that anywhere. It is so beautiful. I like the Books of the Bible, also. Have a great week and see you soon.
@@jillpoteat2974 I charted the Celtic Ladies Sampler myself, taking bits of the original patterns by Lavender and Lace. Hi. I enjoy your channel so much. I just bought cats and hearts and want to do it on 25 count white evenweave Would you tell me the dimensions of your hearts. They look larger than what I calculated. What size frame are you planning on as well. Thanks so very much!! Ellen
@@ellenroberts5172 Hi Ellen, on 25ct evenweave, my Cats & Hearts are 4”w x 3”h and I have them in a 4x6” frame. I cut my fabric with about a 1-1/2” margin on all sides because that was a good fit for the large cut I had and I don’t need a lot of extra when I work in hand. Then, when I’m done, I cut a little bit off the top and bottom so those edges end up with a 1” margin. Then I can just put them in the frame flat like a photo to easily swap them out each month.
@@lynnmagill1897 I’m doing the mix right now. So far, it’s been really nice! I like using blues & greens, but figured tans and greys could be helpful, too, so the mix is nice. 👍🏻
