After watching several of these videos, I decided to try this one. I liked this procedure the best. My biggest complaint is that NO ONE in any video stated how many rolls of money was needed for each layer. I used three foam layers, bought at Hobby Lobby - green foam, wished I had used white. The foam rounds were about 9", 7", 5". I used a mixture of denominations and it turned out to be pretty expensive but it is for my youngest (of 6) son's bride and the last to marry. The dowel I used was 1 3/4". The top layer took 23 rolls, the middle 31, and the bottom 38. If I used all $1's, it would cost $92 just for the rolls. I probably spent about $50 on other items, including a cute raised cake plate, plastic covers for the tops of the foam rounds, ribbons, lace, Washi tape (one roll worked for all of it), floral decorations, and cake topper. It came out amazing and I can't wait until her shower!
Same here. I’m doing it for my daughter’s graduation. I think I will use paper to figure out how many, of which domination, I’ll need. I want to do a four tier, with the graduation cap on top. I’ve done several diaper cakes, so I really think this can’t be any different. Love this tutorial!
I agree to a certain extent. Like for HER video, she may have wanted to mention it just in case a viewer wanted to replicate hers to the T. BUT on the flip side, it all depends on how tight the creator rolls the bills. So if you by chance have bigger cake rounds, and you decide to roll them tightly, it will take many more bills compared to the channel's cake bill count. So it's up to you to use as many as you want. BUT I also liked that you mentioned exactly what you mentioned she didn't. Great info. This is how I'd do it as well. It really does help your viewers recreate yours or their own twist. Good info, thank YOU craftyGma2024
This was so beautiful! I am definitely going to make one for my daughter this year. She graduates high school and I want to make it extra special for her because they aren't having a traditional graduation this year. Thanks so much!
Same here! I feel so bad for these kids since it’s such a special time for them. Congratulations to your daughter! I have a niece and nephew who graduate this year.
Yay! I'm glad this video was helpful for you. I know your mom will love it! If you end up posting your finished cake on YT or IG, tag me so I can see it! Thanks for watching! Much love, Jocy
Hi there! I used 43 dollars on the bottom row and 35 on the middle row (19 on the top row). Just keep in mind that, the number of bills might vary depending on how big or small you make your rolls. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching. Much love, Jocy
Thank you for posting. I wish i could post a picture of my cake. I made it for a baby shower, lots of pink petals and shells. Looks beautiful. It looks more daunting than it actually is. Thank you
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. I always hope my videos are helpful in some way. If you make a money cake yourself, I would love to see it! Thanks for watching. Much love, Jocy
I used about 100 bills ( top layer 19/middle 35/bottom 43). But keep in mind, that the amount you will use will depend on the size of the circles you use as well as how big you make your dollar rolls. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
I wouldn’t recommend double sided tape because it might be too tacky and damage the money. If you can’t find washi tape, get some painters tape. Low tack tape is what you need. Hope that helps. 😊
Thank you! If you post a picture/video on YT or IG, tag me so I can see it. I would love to see how yours turned out! Thank you for watching. Much love, Jocy
I couldnt reply to your other question on that comment, so I'll do it here. If you go to the very end of my video, I so you the floral rounds that I got and it shows the measurements on the labels. I got mine at Michaels (make sure you use coupons! lol)...but I actually saw some at walmart today too. Hope that helps! ;)
Hi there! I wouldn’t recommend it…double sided tape might be too sticky and damage the money when you try to remove it. If you don’t have washi tape, painters tape would work. Any low tack tape should be used. Hope that helps! Much love.
I wanted to let you know that I just made another money cake! I used the little tiny double stickers from Dollar Tree, they are a little puffy and they worked but I switched to the small sticky dots they sell and they worked a lot better! They are clear and are in the craft section at DT. I peeled the white wrapper down some, took the rolled up bill and pressed it onto the bill and it adhere really good and then pressed the bill onto my cake. The glue dots kind of roll up if messed with too much but still work. It is like the white glue that we pull of of mailers and things that have glue that we all play with and it rolls up. Hope that helps.
For this cake I’m not exactly sure…I actually have a new money cake tutorial that show the exact floral rounds I used and the number of bills I used in the description box of that video. I probably posted in within the last week if you want to look for that video. 💕
I used 120 bills because thats how much I got to use for this cake. I doubled up the rolls on the top layer. Just keep in mind the amount of total bills everyone will use will be different because of the size of rolls you make might be different than mine. Hope that helps. TY for watching!
I used washi tape. It's a low tack tape, kinda like blue painters tape. Makes disassembling the rolls of bills much easier and less likely to damage the money. You can find washi tape at any craft store like michaels or joanns...or places like office depot and target. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Just letting you know, I made one for my mom and making another for a college graduate. U use 2" foam. The dollar bills are just slightly higher than 2" so i think they look nice that way. 1" is too short in my opinion. You can go however high you want but I find that the 2" works best. Found mine at Michael's.
If you go to the end of my video, I show the exact foam circles I used. The wrapper is still on it, and it shows the specs of each circle. I got mine at michaels. But as long as you get 3 different sizes, thats all you need. Hope that helps. TY for watching!
It’s called Washi tape...a low tack tape. You can find some at any craft store like Michael’s or even target and Walmart. Hope that helps! Much love, Jocy
Hello! I had 120 dollar bills, but actually only needed about 105 to go around the whole cake. I doubled up some of the rolls and used up all 120 I had. Thanks for watching! much love, Jocy
Are you asking about the size of the circles? Go to the end of the video, I show the exact ones I used and it has the sizes of each circle on them. Hope that helps! =) Thanks for watching!

Thank you. Ive been looking for how many bills on each layer as well but, everyone uses different size foam rounds. Thanks
@@charlieb9293 You're welcome. My biggest issue was how many rolls to determine how much money I would use. I'm glad it helped!!
Yes, that's what I was just here trying to figure out, lol. I'm doing 2k

Hi , I’m new to your channel. I find your video the best for the cake money, thank you for sharing.
Approximately how many dollar did you use.

I tried the Wasabi tape and mine would not stay standing or on so I needed up using green electrical tape and that worked well.
