I am enjoying watching you build your tree house. I'm a retired architect and lifelong builder myself. The creativity that it takes to engage all the engineering challenges is clear and logical. Great job! Thanks for sharing this with us.
I see this as a labor of love, no one that does this for a living would take this much time and effort. I'm super impressed and love the dedication to your craft. Just amazing
Great progress on this video. Must feel like a million bucks to be able to walk on the platform! And although your support structure was an engineering feat, the next part will be the fun part. You must be over the moon right now!
Satisfying episode again Ruud, and especially cool to see both of you guys, featuring for the first time in this series ❤ Good progress, comming along nicely!
I love that you put a lot of effort into creating the resistance structures. My only question would be about the concrete foundation. In the end it also depends on the soil and I don't think the weight of the final structure will be too much to affect the integrity of the foundation. Good luck in completing the project!
Thanks, and thank you for sharing your thoughts! I am in luck with the soil. The solid ground (dense white sand), where they build the foundation of houses on here in The Netherlands, is only about 40cm deep where the treehouse is. So I should be fine. I also made the foundation a bit deeper so it should not be affected by frost if it is a really cold winter.
I just started watching this morning. Your episodes really keep me engaged. Now starting part 6. Subscribed so I can watch you finish. Very fun, great pace and satisfying.
Found your channel accidentally, a treehouse is my childhood dream. I really enjoying the process of building you made. You really pay attention to detail. Keep up the good work! Im rooting for this upcoming beautiful tree house. Waiting for the next video.
Haha, a brush looks a lot better :) and is more precise. The pieces of old cotton fabric I was using go a lot faster if the surfaces are bigger, but it is messy. Nice comment!
Could you build a japanesse like interior plss? I really like the japanesse style so i think i would really look nice. Thx for making such satisfying videos❤
Bro you are doing a really good work. And you pay a lot of attention to the details. But you should also focus on isolation, you should do the isolation of the floors.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate it. The insulation is planned to be installed later in the build. First I want a water tight roof in place, with the amount of rain we are having the insulation would get wet without a roof in place and this would cause problems.
Bedankt! Leuk dat je ook een boomhut gaat maken. Het wordt sowieso een mooi project :) Wanneer gaat de bouw beginnen? Ik ben altijd benieuwd wat mede boomhutbouwers maken. Succes!
It looks amazing. This is probably a silly question, but at 20:23 you see the plywood subfloor, and there is one sheet of plywood that ends just in front of the entrance to the tent. The other sheets are screwed to the beams, but not this sheet. Why is that?
I am impressed. You have a very sharp eye! :) The reason is that we could not wait to put our tent on there because this was a night with perfect weather and it was the first night it was possible! Although the platform was not entirely finished if was safe enough. Some board only had a couple of screws in them. The next day I finished it and screwed the boards to all the beams.
@@BuildingInNatureThat's a good reason! I came across your videos for the first time only last night, when I was looking for inspiration for a project for my little boy. I love the natural hardwood & tung oil, the joinery, and the self-supporting structural design. I also like how you support the inner frame: elevated TABs with bracing rods on two opposing sides and, on the other two opposing sides, posts that come down and incorporate cylinder sleeves to house TABs that mount lower on the tree, with timber bracing members (with origami joinery!) to support further out. And then the oak posts - very cool water shedding and protection method there, using simple sloped concrete footings, membrane and then hardwood blocks to sit the oak posts on. Now I'm so keen for your next episode :)
Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it. It is very cool if my videos can give some inspiration. :) Great that you are also going to build a treehouse!!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Cables can be a very elegant solution! I also like it. It all depends on the situation I think. In my situation with this tree and this design the posts seemed the best option. Maybe I will add an extension with some cables in the future :)
@@BuildingInNature yeah bold it in the tree like above two floors then use cable to hang the roof of the house. then with that cable attach the pillar to the platform.
I don't know why, but I love see these videos, it's very entertaining

Finally, you’re using a brush instead of a paper napkin to apply the wood oil 😎👍

@@BuildingInNature Dude, if you are Dutch, do you know Fenerbahce? I am a fanatic Fenerbahçe fan and I wondered about this. Kind regards!
Yes, I know them!

Net je kanaal ontdekt in mijn zoektocht naar hoe een boomhut in de boom vast te maken en we zijn een paar uurtjes verder :) knap werk!

A lot of hours to build this
Definitely! I like it a lot :)
you should have used cables to hang the platform rather than using two seprates pillar

Do you like build things?
Nooooo! It's just a hobby
กลไกมันซับซ้อนมากน่าที่มาก
Of coursed you used extra attention to the wood up
Haha of course!!
Oi
Welcome! :)
Wood lice?!? Should you want to kill them before they kill your tree?
I consider them part of the ecosystem. The tree is fine! They are everywhere in every dark and humid spot in the forest.
So boring to watch this video ,so slow.waste of time seeing this
Thank you for taking the time to write this not boring comment! Have a nice weekend! 🌳🌳
