Now that she found herself free from her mother at last she was trying out wigs to see what she looked like. Vera lacked confidence, and she probably bought magazines to learn how to dress, do hair and make-up. Because later on when she met George Lucas and again with Terry, she was wearing nice blue dresses, and she got her hairstyle and make-up right. She was very attractive when she made the effort. Plus she left the house and got herself a nice flat that looked more modern than the drab house she lived in with her mother
