This was at the 2nd Buddy's Place near Penn Station. He stated he was 58 y.o., which puts this interview in 1975.
The first Buddy's Place was opened and closed in '74, upper east side, with a sextet.

Buddy fails to see the entertainment value that other music brings to the public forum which attracts more attention from the younger demographic that hasn't adapted to Jazz.

I'll buy honesty - but i won't buy bullshit - Rap is honest at least. It represents the struggle of the black culture.

Jazz could be described as complete self-expression. The greatest musicianship/musicians on the face of the planet earth exists in the jazz industry. It's the original form of music which spawned all others.

Brilliant talk about wasting gas and this is coming from Buddy Rich?
Back in his day, gas was a buck something, Today, over $4.00
Listening to this interview almost makes him a prophet.

Check out GreatestDrummerEverdotCom to see a cat who was born as good as Buddy Rich and has developed himself to be twice as good as him. It's the real deal. And he has reinvented the drum kit by floating the drums in mid-air via the opposing forces of magnets thus allowing them achieve maximum sustain. All while allowing both drum heads to be tuned independently.
