3rd story: NTA, Sam made his bed of thorns, and now he has to lie on it . Op gave solid ,thoughtful advice in that mail, and Sam decided he’s too rich for that, well, you made your choices Sam, live with it, op has nothing to do with it.
my personal theory is that Sam liked op, either that or just liked them as a cushion, so once op moved out of the way and made him land in paviment, he got outset
Multiple things, soon as mum made the Chinese comment, I'd have just noped right out of there. Second who needs a waste of air for a mother who chooses a guy that abandon Ed after having a baby for 20 years and is remarried. Biggest pick me behaviour ever
Im gay, I can see both POVs. Dening who you are is tiresome and I came out simple cause I didn't want to lie. That being said Sam is an idiot, holding out for a inheritance that will set you up for life is the smart thing to do. Plus you get a little revenge on your homophobic family
S3; if you supposed Sam in his choice to come out before he got the inheritance, and everything played out the same way as expected, Sam would blame you for not stopping him
Right? Sam is the one at fault for flushing his life down the toilet, not OP. He really couldn’t just wait? He was very close and knew his family was not going to change.
@@princessmarlena1359 I suspect that Sam had some beautiful fantasy of running away with OP and living together off of his crush's family's money and food for the rest of their lives.
The third story: I genuinely do not any sympathy towards Sam He is the dumbass Who did that to themselves, and OP did offer genuine help , not that he wanted, but I help that he needed and he refused it not to mention how terrible of a friend Sam is
Pretty much how I feel about alot of SJWs and activists, its not that their motives are wrong but some of the disruptive ones aren't doing themselves a favor pissing off normal people trying to go about their day
Exactly. Ugh. Sam ASKED for OP’s advice. OP gave reasonable advice, Sam ignored it, and then his life got fouled up as a result, blames OP, then gets mad at OP for moving on with their life.
Too much ego, not enough brains. Selfish enough to keep contact with the family for the inheritance, but not smart enough to keep his mouth shut until he'd gotten the money. And too full of himself to listen to someone who he viewed as lesser or to even pretend to care about OP
Wow. Some people will willingly choose to dive into shark infested waters during meal time rather than admit they were wrong and are responsible for their life choices.
Story 3 is wild, as a queer person - unless your parents are vocally pro-LGBT+, stay in the closet until you're financially independent and living on your own/outside of the home - get your college paid for, get that health insurance etc He absolutely fumbled the bag - also you can tell he was wasteful with money - he should have been using that money to build a nest egg
For story 3, sometimes I feel like robotic emotionless advice is the best advice. People get so wrapped up in their feelings that they can't think through things. Logically so sometimes they just need a little touch of the tism to give them the right perspective.
Story 3: This is why I tell people in Sam situation to "fake it till you make it." Dont come out the closet until you can support yourself because if your family decides to abandon you then youll be in the street or worst.
Story 2 OP was extremely generous giving them all day to return the car I'd give them 15 minutes to return the car or I'll report it as stolen and if there's any damage, I'll call the cops regardless If they say they're an hour away, then I'll say "i guess I'll report it as stolen now, so sit tight and wait"
1st Story - Well, OP's egg donor was a treasure, wasn't she? Prediction: John's new GF is infertile and he wants to have his son and daughter from his first relationship for some reason (parents pressuring him to have an heir?). Money was on the table and OP was ruining that. Too bad, so sad. 2nd Story - Was OP entirely blameless? No,. it was a petty thing not letting their 'baby' (the car') out of their sight but the fact was that it *is* their car and their property and it was up to them what happened to it. Mother and Golden Sis disrespected that and them by their actions and what happens now is entirely their problem. Best to leave iwth clean heels. 3rd Story - 'Sam' clearly had already decided what they were going to do'. What he wanted from their friend... crush....? He wanted them to guarantee being their parachute if it didn't work out. It was also clear that being a Trust Fund Kiddie had left them unable to plan ahead for the worst case scenario and bred a curious arrogance that things would go the way they wanted becuase they wanted it that way. Sis was right that it had created a one-way 'friendship' where OP was doing all the giving and Sam never reciprocated in any way. They were toxic and OP was better off with them out of their life.
3rd story: im trans masc myself, & i also come from a transphobic family. I would not come out to my family, especially under Sam's circumstances. You don't owe honesty to people who are that hateful to existence. I feel sympathy to Sam for being in that position. I really do. I can even understand being initially stung by OP's reaction at first. I had a similar (if not as explosive) reaction when i mentioned going on HRT to my sister & she gave me a more practical POV. But OP wasn't wrong in that advice, & I'd rather have a friend give me hard but good advice. OP didn't deserve that treatment. Sam made his bed by coming out, & as sucky as it is, he knew the likely consequences. He needs to acknowledge that he made his own choices instead of blaming OP. If he needs to blame anyone, he should blame his transphobic family.
That first story wow!!! That mom was super harsh!!! I bet dad probably gave mom a huge amount of money or something like that which is why she is forgiving him and forcing a reconciliation! Five minutes with Dr Phil should straighten her out!!!
Story 3: Firstly, any friends in Sam's side can't say anything unless they are the ones supporting and letting him live with them. And same caused all his own problems himself, so op was correct. Same was never actually a friend, he was a user, using op when needed but never being there for her in return. Now Sam said op was homophobic and transphobic. It tells me he doesn't actually understand the meaning of those words. Not being at the beck and call and a yes person to an lgbt person doesn't make you one of those things. You can be lgbtq+ and still just be a bad person, nothing to do with sexuality or gender or anything. Niw let's go through what Sam actually was. He was selfish, self centered, cruel, snobbish, inconsiderate and ableist, and that's just off the top of my head from what I remember from the story. As saying goes, don't throw stones in glass house. Maybe one day he will learn to grow up and accept responsibility 🤷♂️

Agree. Sam sounds incredibly exhausting.
