- While on a business trip to DC, we stayed at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA. Beautiful hotel. These are the elevators in the tower I was placed in (the Arlington tower). They're in the process of being modernized by ThyssenKrupp. As a result, I was able to film an elevator that was already modernized, and one that hadn't been started yet. Pretty cool contrast.

ThysssenKrupp does amazing modernizations! So does Schindler. Even though the intelligent leveling is gone, these things now run even more amazingly.
Really cool to see one of each! Looks like this will be a good mod apart from the call stations.
Great video. Good thing you got to show us the modernization project for the Arlington tower. I don't know if the same goes for the Capitol tower as well as both garages for both towers.
when they do the call buttons like that. its usually temporary they put them into the wall after when there done
+PAelevators That's what I was thinking... TKE should have kept the older lanterns, much nicer.
ik right and merry christmas alex give me a call sometime and so we can talk about when you come to pittsburgh this summer
fa sho
I always wanted a TKE at my house. But my parents don't like that idea.
pretty neat modded elevator
I stayed in this hotel in 2010 in the other tower. Strange elevators. Can't say I'm huge on this mod, but it is a step up from the epco mod... Also, there is no 10th and 11th floor due to a wiring issue when the building was built. That's what a building technician told me. Also, did you find the tunnel leading to the underground sops? Pretty cool.
ThyssenKrupp really knows how to do some nice mods!
I wonder what prompted this mod as the fixtures in the elevator still with the first mod seem to be holding up just fine. Also, I really hope ThyssenKrupp mounted those call stations like that just until they can cut new holes in the wall. If not, that is the lamest call station mount job I have ever seen.
I don't think that call station is big enough...
Where's floor 10 and 11?
Raymond Landreth they don't exist because of a screwup when this tower was under construction
Raymond Landreth they got eaten by a beast **falls through the floor laughing**
