As an older (71) woman with a pixie cut, fine hair, who would like to still remain current I can see why her client would want a pixie cut. The problem I have with this video is the quality of the cut. Never has my stylist EVER used those clippers on mine and my style is versatile, age appropriate, and easy to maintain. Yes, it is cut over the ears and yes, the back is short but not with clippers. I've had it this way for a few years now and I now see just how lucky I am to have an excellent, master stylist. Even if money is an issue, and isn't that true for most if us, no one should settle for a botched cut. If you like the style take a few photos to show another stylist as a guide but look for someone who can do a softer version. A little softness is necessary once we age. My sides are cut a bit longer and angle toward my face with a wispy look. I, too, like my bangs longer but then I have a higher forehead to hide than this lucky woman. The back of my hair transitions to a very short back for easy upkeep. Upkeep can be had without the clippers and the almost bald places this poor woman will have to grow out. And it won't grow out evenly either! A good cut will still look good even as it starts to get to long. Due to a health issue, I once went over 10 weeks without a cut. Not that I am suggesting doing that but I was still getting compliments the week before my cut. Yes, the style was a little different from the fresh cut but I was still able to make small changes and it still looked good. No one but myself knew it was supposed to be much shorter. So, whether you are old or young no one should settle for a bad cut. For those of you who are more 'mature', if you want a short, sassy, pixie cut then go for it. Do want makes you feel good. After all, haven't we spent enough years worry about others opinions?

I am nearly 79 and I got my hair cut even shorter than this...like a long crew cut. I get nothing but complements on it. My face is unlined and my neck is smooth. I stopped dying it and it is overall grey now. Different colors throughout...natural grey. I love it.
Love this haircut/style! I'm 66 with thin and very fine hair. I wear mine in an undercut asymmetrical pixie. So easy to care for and always looks good.
What younger people don't yet understand is we age on the outside but not on the inside. This lady obviously feels young, sassy and vibrant and the haircut reflects her inner self. I personally think she looks wonderful and full of spunk. I don't understand the negative comments because she looks pleased with the cut and isn't that what really counts?

Nancy you're still a pretty lady and you do look good in short hair, you have the head shape for it, but you could have such a sweet more softer look for someone our age without spikes and still have one minute hairdo! We're not 20 anymore. I'm in age denial, and want a shorter look, but I'd never do that in a million years! SMILE MORE NANCY!!! :) L

My mom is going to be 75 in a few weeks and about to get this same cut done by me. This lady is rockin' this look and so will my mom. Haters are gonna hate. Age should never dictate the type of hairstyle you have. It's your life and your hair, live it and do it however you want.
Radona is fantastic. I had been a hairdresser in my twenties (I am now 70). Recently after viewing her videos I am able to cut and style my hair more up to date and stylish than it has been. However, my hair is not only fine but has thinned much over the years due in great part over the years to thyroid onset in my forties, so I am skittish about texturing my hair to make it look “plumper”. Can she show us some more flattering styles for women like me? I am not afraid to try new fun things! Recently I colored my silver hair a dusty lavender with permanent hair color, which is still nice as it fades out. Doubt it if I would ever go with a blue or a green but I may give a rose blonde a try. 😉 Any other suggestions?

The one comment I always receive is "I wish I could wear my hair like that!". Some women think a short haircut affects their femininity. Not at all! Your sense of being feminine comes from within.....not your hair!

I love how this hair dresser did this womens pixie.Ive been cutting my own hair for almost 50 yrs ,as ive never gotten the hair cut i always used to ask for .Even if i brought in a picture of what i wanted.They always did the same old fashioned hair cut then sprayed alot of that sticky hair spray on me.One time i came home with what they called a Bee Hive with my hair straight up on top of my head.I do not mean spiked.It was as ugly as sin.The hair dresser did this on my wedding day of all times i came home an starting brushing it out and cutting it and it looked a lot better then what that hair dresser did. Where can i find a hair dresser that does beautiful pixies like this hair dresser??? Beautiful work!!!

I think it's cute. When you get older, you have to right to do whatever you please. To wear your hair, makeup, etc. any way you want. You deserve it. We have followed many rules and regulations about clothing, makeup, etc. for many years. If you have not watched a RUclips named Puffin's Wife, you should. To me, she is inspiring. Btw, she sometimes rocks a pixie cut.

I've been a hairdresser for 35 years and I love it! She looks thinner, more youthful and more in Society fashion. Of course I have Elizabeth Taylor's birthday and Elizabeth Taylor's taste and I watch and love Dynasty so there you go. I think this woman looks fabulous! I just wish I had the nerve but I don't yet. This woman would look older in my opinion with any longer style.

I am 65 and this is exactly how I wear my hair. I get so many compliments on my hair from women my age, some who say they wish they could wear their hair like mine. I tell them to just do it because it grows back. This cut looks great on her. I love it.

Find an experienced stylist, go in to talk with her expressing your ideas about the style you would like, the maintenance needed with it, but most of all ask what she thinks about your desired look, your type of hair and ask her opinion. If she answers yes immediately to all your questions jump the hell out of that chair and keep looking! You will find that one special stylist who will take into consideration what you want in a haircut and work with you to achieve that look. Good Luck😉😉

I am so happy to see this haircut. I lost all my hair to chemo and when it finally came back (not all of it came back) it was very dark brown not blond as I had been all my life. I've been so frustrated and embarrassed that I don't go out much. I have a wig but it's so uncomfortable. I really didn't mind being bald once I got used to it so almost wish that it would all fall out again. I have areas in my hair where there are spots with no hair at all. I'm hoping that I can explain it to my hairdresser and see if she can duplicate what you've done. With being bald for so long then having this nasty mess, I haven't seen her in about 2 years. I'm hoping that she can help me. Possibly, I can send her a link to this page. Thanks for posting this. It gives me hope. :)
OMG...I'm a 53 year young lady who wears a short pixie. I may not know techniques, but I do know a bad haircut with my years of experience. What the heck was either one of them thinking? Not to simply reiterate the comments on the bald spots and bad cutting techniques, but DA-YUM , slow down and check your cuts! I would literally CRY if I walked out with that cut. And it's not like she could cut more to fix it. It's just not flattering at all!!! Poor thing...or as we say in the south when intending to insult...backhanded..."BLESS YOUR LITTLE HEART!"
I think it is a fun look. Despite what some say about it being wrong for her age, I think attitude and sense of style is more important than age. My opinion. With some funky earrings and the right frame of mind, it can work. I do agree with some comments on the part of the cut done with clippers, is kind of patchy/choppy looking but the overall style I think is fun.

I have my fine thin hair super short also. I love it. Mine is a bit shorter in front and I let the nape stay natural instead of hard line. I get it lightened to white about twice a year and it looks good even while growing out. I let mine air dry with very little if no product. Love it in my senior years

I'm 68 with very fine, thin hair and wear mine this way. Not to be lazy, but after 68 years of wearing it so many ways, I've found that this is the best way to wear it. Longer and it's strings. So now it's short, silver and sassy! ;-)

I am in LOVE with your own hair cut and asked dozens of times (showing the picture) to have that hair cut to no avail, walked out with just a short hair cut, every time! I am 62 now and done with hair dressers. Started to cut my hair myself last year, it doesn't look "professional" lol, but hey, better than the plain old boring short cut. I am blessed with snow white hair (not grey) and I want a modern look to go with it!
DON'T let the negative comments get to you. Those are the ones that are in their 20 and wear extensions. I have fine/ thin hair and an older women. I Think it looks GREAT Ur stylist did a great job.

I too am older and have thin, baby fine hair. I liked the cut and I think it did look cute on the lady. I have worn a form of pixie nearly 45 years and this looks sooooo easy to take of. This is my opinion and I'm entitled to it so, Please don't bombard me with negative comments in return for mine.
99% are positive and love it. I alternate with this type of close crop and a graduated wedge. I have it cropped now as did it myself until i can return to my regular haurdresser. This really suits this lady.

Omg... somebody cut my hair very similar a couple of months ago. It actually gave me shivers watching. And just sat there like Nancy, and said it was great. I cried for a week. No hair left to do anything with. Cut it how they wanted it, not me. Scissor happy.
I just got a cut very similar to this and I love it there's a lot you can do with the top. Scrunch it, comb it all to one side, it's very versatile. I get a lot of compliments on it cause it suits my face shape and it's great for summer.

I think it's cute. When you get older, you have to right to do whatever you please. To wear your hair, makeup, etc. any way you want. You deserve it. We have followed many rules and regulations about clothing, makeup, etc. for many years. If you have not watched a RUclips named Puffin's Wife, you should. To me, she is inspiring. Btw, she sometimes rocks a pixie cut.

I've been a hairdresser for 35 years and I love it! She looks thinner, more youthful and more in Society fashion. Of course I have Elizabeth Taylor's birthday and Elizabeth Taylor's taste and I watch and love Dynasty so there you go. I think this woman looks fabulous! I just wish I had the nerve but I don't yet. This woman would look older in my opinion with any longer style.

I am 65 and this is exactly how I wear my hair. I get so many compliments on my hair from women my age, some who say they wish they could wear their hair like mine. I tell them to just do it because it grows back. This cut looks great on her. I love it.

I am so happy to see this haircut. I lost all my hair to chemo and when it finally came back (not all of it came back) it was very dark brown not blond as I had been all my life. I've been so frustrated and embarrassed that I don't go out much. I have a wig but it's so uncomfortable. I really didn't mind being bald once I got used to it so almost wish that it would all fall out again. I have areas in my hair where there are spots with no hair at all. I'm hoping that I can explain it to my hairdresser and see if she can duplicate what you've done. With being bald for so long then having this nasty mess, I haven't seen her in about 2 years. I'm hoping that she can help me. Possibly, I can send her a link to this page. Thanks for posting this. It gives me hope. :)

OMG...I'm a 53 year young lady who wears a short pixie. I may not know techniques, but I do know a bad haircut with my years of experience. What the heck was either one of them thinking? Not to simply reiterate the comments on the bald spots and bad cutting techniques, but DA-YUM , slow down and check your cuts! I would literally CRY if I walked out with that cut. And it's not like she could cut more to fix it. It's just not flattering at all!!! Poor thing...or as we say in the south when intending to insult...backhanded..."BLESS YOUR LITTLE HEART!"

I think it is a fun look. Despite what some say about it being wrong for her age, I think attitude and sense of style is more important than age. My opinion. With some funky earrings and the right frame of mind, it can work. I do agree with some comments on the part of the cut done with clippers, is kind of patchy/choppy looking but the overall style I think is fun.
Tracey- thank you for a modulated, calm approach to your comment. I thought I was in a room with a gang of 11 year olds. You can cut my hair. I like it short, very easy, with a little edge to it.

I have my fine thin hair super short also. I love it. Mine is a bit shorter in front and I let the nape stay natural instead of hard line.
I get it lightened to white about twice a year and it looks good even while growing out. I let mine air dry with very little if no product. Love it in my senior years

I'm 68 with very fine, thin hair and wear mine this way. Not to be lazy, but after 68 years of wearing it so many ways, I've found that this is the best way to wear it. Longer and it's strings. So now it's short, silver and sassy! ;-)

I am in LOVE with your own hair cut and asked dozens of times (showing the picture) to have that hair cut to no avail, walked out with just a short hair cut, every time! I am 62 now and done with hair dressers. Started to cut my hair myself last year, it doesn't look "professional" lol, but hey, better than the plain old boring short cut. I am blessed with snow white hair (not grey) and I want a modern look to go with it!

I too am older and have thin, baby fine hair. I liked the cut and I think it did look cute on the lady. I have worn a form of pixie nearly 45 years and this looks sooooo easy to take of. This is my opinion and I'm entitled to it so, Please don't bombard me with negative comments in return for mine.

Omg... somebody cut my hair very similar a couple of months ago. It actually gave me shivers watching. And just sat there like Nancy, and said it was great. I cried for a week. No hair left to do anything with. Cut it how they wanted it, not me. Scissor happy.

I just got a cut very similar to this and I love it there's a lot you can do with the top. Scrunch it, comb it all to one side, it's very versatile. I get a lot of compliments on it cause it suits my face shape and it's great for summer.
