    I really like this boat, it’s in a niche if its own and you can see the DNA from its big sisters in their classic line . It’s robust and no nonsense and ticks all the boxes if you are going to travel some distances , I love all that storage and big lockers , believe me if your going offshore cruising you need tons of storage , ability to cook decent meals and enough dry storage for couple weeks of food. That laz sells it for me, looks like you can get tons of stuff down there , bicycles , scooters , water toys all the shrapnel you end up carrying. . I think they did a great job with this boat slits nicely between the old school classics and all the faux trawler styles you see all around the med but are a bit wobbly when the going gets up and downy . This looks as if it really could cut it in some lumpy stuff. Nice to see something different .

    I very much like this boat. Spacious, lot’s of storage, huge master, fantastic engine room and protected side walks. The layout with the galley not so practical and a saloon is missing with a comfortable sitting. Overall, I like the modern twist of this trawler, but more home comfort needs to come.

    Dear Mr Haines , I purchased a boat which you reviewed , and followed your recommendations as to hand rails etc.
    It might be politically incorrect , but it would be nice to delve a little deeper past the shiny bits.
    For example my boat has the capacity for 7 people, yet it has a 25ltr hot water tank !
    Holding tank which would last half a day with a full compliment.
    And a fuel tank that starts to feel a little empty after five hours .
    Enjoy your reviews

      Hi Mark, thanks for taking the time to comment and I'm pleased to read that one of my reviews lead to you purchasing a boat. I take your point but given the time we're given to test these boats there is only so much we can do. However, we are looking to do more in-depth "live aboard" style reviews in the future where we will be able to assess the sorts of details that you're referring to. Take care - Jack
      P.S. I've got to know... what boat did you go for?!

    • @markliley2748

      I have had
      5 x Sunseeker’s
      3 x Riva
      1 x Princess
      1 x Itama
      1 x Ferretti
      I will say that the Ferretti group after sales is in my experience, outstanding.
      As we all know buying a new boat is a great experience, but the pain over the next year evens it out.
      That being said we picked up our Ferretti 500 in Montenegro and spent six weeks bringing it to the south of France.
      We return to Montenegro next week …

    Very interesting - makes me think of the Swift Trawler series from Beneteau. I prefer the classic trawler but that's just me. I'm interested to see how well it sells, the level changes might put off older buyers, but this seems to be marketed towards a younger audience.

    That huge bathing platform would bug me, especially when paying for anything determined by the length of the vessel. Should make them fold up for going into marinas, or just leave it off and nake do with a crane or davit for a tender.

    As always excellent presentation.
    But some years after the arrival of the Beneteau Grand Trawler 62 I would not call this vessel modern. Regarding exterior and interior design as well as the overall layout, it cannot compete in this class, size and price range. Not to mention the beachclub dayhead & shower which can be accessed without passing the engines…

    Its nice . . Designed like a boat you could stay way on but the range isnt up there . . I never understand the emphasis on so much storage . . For what . . Clothes ya got wardrobes and food theres the gally area unless you use it for food but the range needs to increase . . . This is for me if i was buying new . . How i would uae it .
    Nice design but for me the internals would need a look at . .

    yet another vessel which has fallen victim to the "too much galley" trap that is all the rage. at the end of the day you have the facility in the "huge" kitchen to prepare food for 30 but no proper saloon to relax for 6. ridiculous. how much time do you actually spend in the kitchen v in your living room - and its a 62 foot vessel. despite its very nice lines it is not a surprise this model of outer reef does not sell well.

      There is plenty of lounge space on this boat. If you want a more conventional saloon, the alternative layout provides that option.

    The interior is too cramped. that short sofa across from galley is useless and a place filler, the walk space in the galley is suited only for one person, the whole saloon looks choppy and very tight, perhaps another layout would be better and more user friendly.

  • @jasonadawe5130
    @jasonadawe5130 18 дней назад +1

    Really didn’t like this boat, that sofa is so narrow it’s unusable and lots of changes in floor height…..plus the rear cockpit area is tiny. There are many better boats out there…..Jack I felt you were being very diplomatic with your comments 😉

    Thank you for presenting this boat, well done as always. With that said, WTH is Outer Reef thinking?!! Equal sidewalks with the beam of a 40' sports cruiser! Who in the hell wants a 63' long boat with no beam?! Was it built for a specific parking issue?? This is embarrassing for such a prestigious builder. A 50' fast trawler is bigger and I don't want to hear about how it's more efficient for cutting threw waves, it's a trawler.
    Can't believe they missed SO completely when everyone else is getting better. What a turd

    • @absolutenautical
      @absolutenautical 15 дней назад

      Not sure why you say beam is a problem , it’s slightly beamier than say the Fleming 55 which has similar LOA .?

    Not a fan as I
    this to a super sized "Day Boat." The navigation stations have horrible light pollution hazards in regards to night navigation and the idea of guests trapaising through engineering spaces is pure cringe.

  • @michaelstaruszkiewicz8798
    @michaelstaruszkiewicz8798 17 дней назад +1

    I have viewed this review several times now, and this Outer Reef 620 Trident is poorly designed & executed if they're trying to present safe & comfortable passagemaking to potential buyers. The access hatch to the engine room is exposed and looks flimsy, to be honest. The ER has good height BUT cramped, the generators which are going to see more use than the main engines are difficult to get to? Awkward to service? Huh? And WTF, Hull Windows IN the Engine Room? Are you kidding me? Electrics, watermakers, tankages, plumbing spaces, no mention! This is a Window-Dressing, no substance design for a LOT of $$. The flip-up window to the cockpit confirms this as nothing more than a outsized commuter boat with some questionable design choices. A used Fleming or similar semi-displacement design is a more pragmatic choice in my eyes.

    • @absolutenautical
      @absolutenautical 16 дней назад +1

      I watched it several times too, the windows as far as I can see are in the laz part not the engine room and you can access the engine room through the aft deck stairs if you want which i think is quite cool for a 60’ boat . You’re trying to compare against a Fleming 55 (nice boat ) but really it’s tiny compared to this , engine room your on your hands and knees on the F55, no crew , master is in the fore peak and two smaller cabins which are really bunks . Flybridge is much smaller and if you want to do high speed cruising you’ll need a tanker behind you . Don’t get me wrong the F55 is a beautiful thing if though very expensive , but if you want some space and proper master, walk in engine room and huge lazerette / crew I think this is a credible alternative for something a bit more modern assuming it’s reasonably well built, price seems competitive too .
