    The best steel is from Japan, Germany, and the USA. You do beautiful work.

    Jordan from michigan here. Turned out damn good man! I work at Manson precision reamers hand cutting gunsmithing tools and I’ve always admired engravings, especially being a gun guy. I know I can do it, can’t wait to start here soon. Just have to get the tools and hunker down for winter & get at it.

      It seems like it once you get the hang of things and can really start making and creating some cool stuff. I’m just shopping right now, tons of options that’s for sure.

    For beginner in engraving is it necessary to learn traditional engraving, like scrolls, before learning flare cuting ? Thanks for your videos 😊

    The quality of Spyderco's Seki-City production is all over the place, so its not surprising at all to hear that you encountered such variation between the two.
    Have you done much work with 6Al4V titanium?

    • @voightengraving
      @voightengraving  Год назад

      Yes it was very inconsistent but manageable after all. I have cut Titanium once. An engraver friend sent me a pendant but I'm not sure what it was exactly. Whatever it was it cut very well. I know that some titanium doesn't.

    Do you want your bit's to be magnetic magnetized?yes or no and why?

    • @voightengraving
      @voightengraving  Год назад +1

      I demagnetize my gravers. Having metal stick to the top impedes the ability to see what you are doing.
