This ship looks beautiful. The difficulty level of adapting another cruise line’s partially completed ship to a DCL themed cruise ship is an engineering and design headache. The original ship design was an Asian copy of an Oasis class ship from Royal Caribbean. DCL bought the ship when the original ship builder went into bankruptcy. Now we get to see a complete Disney retrofit on a Royal Caribbean Oasis class ship. Pretty cool to see Disney’s take on this type of design.
Thanks for the information, I knew it was a half built ship but didn’t know about the Royal Caribbean connection. Based on this video alone, looks like Disney’s retrofit is so much nicer than any Royal ships so far.
@@guyz7777 Several well respected documentaries on the Global Dream have mentioned that important elements of Oasis class designs were copied on the ship. Of course it’s not an exact match, it’s about 10 percent light in tonnage but actually was built to have the largest passenger capacity at sea. The split superstructure at the rear of the ship, the performance pool in the aft area, the open air promenade/boardwalk are hallmarks of Oasis class ships. I think Disney has done a fantastic job so far with creating their magic in the much larger space of the Adventure cruise ship. I look forward to seeing more artistic renderings of the interior spaces by Disney!
