I have been a Christian for my entire life. I am 36 now and I struggle with inherited anxiety and depression and I do a lot of crying in private. I often come here and listen to this song (went to a Casting Crowns concert years ago, one of best life experiences) and while I love the song I really love reading the comments, seeing how many people are sharing their struggles and their faith in our Almighty loving Father. It reminds me that I am not alone, not only do I have Him but I am surrounded by "so great a crowd of witnesses" who have passed through the valley with me. I love you all, and I know He loves us too. Don't give up hope, "He who began a good work in you WILL carry it on to completion." (Philippians 1:6)

My baby 18 months can’t sleep without this song. We have to play several times until she falls asleep. While the music was playing, I read all the comments and it touched my heart.

Nico Di Angelo I understand, life's hard. I often feel as if Gods not listening. I get frustrated because He doesn't answer always. But I tell you, God hears. He is not to far away to hear, not to deaf to hear, not to blind to see. He sees your struggles. Always remember Gods timing is perfect, He may not answer now, but He will in His own time. Just like when He had been called to raise a man from the dead, Jesus purposely took the longer way, was purposely late. He wanted to show the family that through God all things are possible.

I needed this song. I've struggled with my faith my whole life. After losing my daughter in August, I hit rock bottom. My soul died, the day I lost her, as did my faith. Months later my heart is learning to beat again, and my soul is healing thanks to my God. Without him I'm sure I wouldn't have survived this. Every day I have to remember to lay it all down to Him, and that I'm never alone. He is always with me!

I have read every one who has posted their response to this song. and I have prayed for you. I also lost my husband and and my two adult children they died 8 days apart and I was so broken-hearted, it took time but Jesus brought me through. He is our healer and savior. He Loves each one of us so much. And we love Him. I thank Him for this song and the loving Christians he gave this gift to, it has helped to heal our hearts.

I've had that recently. For me I think it is the stress I felt during covid. I become numb during crisis or stressful times but feel the after effects later on. I feel like everyone else is already going back to life and I just want to cry. But God will help us whatever the struggle I hope
God is the GOD OF HOPE, the One who encourages the DownCast. Depression and hopelessness is from the devil. Fight it with the Word of God. I know exactly how you feel..i too struggled with depression, fear and anxiety but that is the devil taking advantage of the flesh..our Adamic sinful flesh. You need to go to God as you are and ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit. Remember the Bible verse that Jesus said if your child asks for an egg will you give him a scorpion? I needed this song.. I was feeling alone. Watching my two daughters sleeping peacefully while I am worrying about what they will eat tomorrow.. I felt relieved knowing I am not alone and God will make away.
I know where you're coming from. Single mom of 3. Once I started giving it all to God and tithing it all changed. It will for you too. I'm not saying I don't struggle, but I do know whatever I need, God will always make a way. He is such an amazing God and I feel guilty at times because I ran from him for so long. My kids father committed suicide in 2016, a few years later I had a stillborn. I got addicted to drugs and became a heavy drinker. But only for the grace of God, I am here today. I hear ya so loudly! I've struggled with so much, all my life, and have had much difficulty with faith, as well. 2 am, awake with worry when you feel like there's no God up there, is the loneliest place on the planet! We all just have to help each other. I believe that is what Jesus taught so well, the part of Matthew 25 about the least of my brethren. I hope you find a good food bank. I go more than once every week to be able to feed us. I have truly met some of the kindest, most compassionate and generous people among the hungry, the homeless, and those trying to help. All have blessed me, even as I struggle. I hope you find this, as well.

I lost my daughter our oldest just last Tuesday the 13th suddenly with no signs illness or accident she was just gone they say natural causes. Such sorrow I have not felt and can only get through this in Christ. God is not the great explainer of why things happen but He is the great comforter and now I know that by experience.

My husband very suddenly was taken. He was coming home the next day after surgery and right in front of me had a heart attack. Nothing they could do. And they tried. With his final breath he looked at me and said "i love you" and was gone at only 58. I haven't been able to cry until I heard this song.

So so tragic! When my Mother died, I was so angry with God I did not cry for months. She was only 49. When I finally took it to Jesus, I realized He was waiting patiently for me. I've felt gratitude for the person she was & how many loved her. The pall bearers were my husband (26 then)my brothers in law, my cousins. They were crying so violently, they couldn't bear her casket for over an hour. I sat & did not cry. My Father (52)was nearly inconsolable. They had a late in life baby, he was 7yrs old. We all survived, but truly miss her daily. She was a very spiritual person & i praise God she entered Heaven 40 yrs ago & has had no pain since, only rejoicing & glory.

This song was played at my precious daughter's funeral this past Sunday. She was 31 years old. This song was one that we shared and found comfort in through some very difficult times. I am heartbroken. My life will never be the same. I love her so much and miss her terribly. But I know I am not alone. And she knew Jesus, as do I, so I know she is safe in His loving arms. Now, this song comforts me in this time of overwhelming grief.
There were times I was singing this song as I did not know my life direction, but now I am just listening as a remembrance. I have everything I need and more.

My mom died when I was 8 from a heart attack. Before I was born, my mom did drugs, but when she was pregnant with me she quit because she has always wanted to have a baby, and she said that I saved her life. But when she had a heart attack she was in Hawaii visiting her friends and i was in Washington so I couldn't save her life then, and I never got to say goodbye. There was no warning it just happened so fast. I always say it's my fault. But when I listen to songs like this I feel so much better.Soon I will see her in Heaven. And if you ever feel alone, just know that you are never alone. God is with you.

Part of this song came to mind a few minutes ago when I was sitting here feeling worn out and unsure of what to believe.
I just felt like I didn't have the strength to believe anymore and I prayed, "God, You're going to have to show me everything is going to be okay."
After my lunch break was up, I started back to work and the phrase, _"Can He keep me from going under?"_ came to my mind.
Then I started thinking of a couple other lines in the song and decided to look it up.
I've heard this song before and thought it was good but, when I'd heard it previously, the lyrics didn't impact me the way they did today when I needed it most. It addressed everything I'd been feeling. God is good. 💕✝💕

This song always saves me from Anxiety and depression. I also do a lot of crying and this lift my spirit. Reminds me of how great God is to blessed me with this life though no one knew what my heart is into.

Back in early 2000s I found this station called Klove and that's when I discovered the contemporary Christian artists and songs. This is my favorite contemporary Christian song and I love Third Day songs too. I strayed away from God for a few years but when you get the shingles virus it has a way of making you humble.

I lost my Mom to cancer 1/2/17, then our oldest dog suddendly passed 1/27, sadly my 52 yr old brother in law passed then on 2/19/17....I was then hosptialized 3/2 for a very serious bacterium, but Jesus never left my side, not once did I feel alone or afraid...for our Lord hears our prayers and I read all of ur stories of ur lost loved ones, just breaks my heart, may you all u responded to this song have comfort and many blessings! Regina Garcia Yep. Me too. But I feel like I'm always is a valley. It doesn't seem to get better ever. Three deaths happened in the month of march that impacted me all in march. It's so sad the so many people are going through so much stuff. It's awful.
