  • Experience a traditional Sudanese lyre performance and explore its connections with one of the Museum’s star objects; a magnificent nineteenth century lyre, subject of the Asahi Shimbun Display Music, celebration and healing: the Sudanese lyre.
Musicians Hasan Salih Nour and Ebrahim Disco demonstrate that this ancient musical tradition is very much alive within today’s Sudanese community with their special performance in the Sainsbury African galleries.

Sudanese have the true Nile valley culture not the arabized crap that Egyptians practice that has nothing to do with there ancestors , they may have the Pyramids of Giza , but they dont have the culture or the language of the Pharaohs

      C,D,E,G,A
You can tune each string in whichever order you want, I usually tune it starting with the first string (the string where your thumb is) is A, the 2nd (index finger) E, the 3rd (middle finger) D, the 4th (ring finger) C and the 5th (pinkie) G.
