First of all, we need to stop speculating so much about their intentions. There could be many reasons that are probably not identified or apparent in any way. Marriage and divorces are much more of a complex process than speculating only one root cause. Divorces happen mainly due to many conflicts that cannot be resolved all together.

-Men are always dominant? You can’t overall generalized the entire population of married men here. Your reason is a lot vague because they both seem pretty open minded people. However, one reason could be that they are having issues settling down together. By that I mean, they might not be able to make compromise/sacrifices in their relationship because of their highly ambitious personalities.
-It’s natural to have insecurities being in a relationship, especially when you are not willing to change for the sake saving a relationship. You always debate with yourself that why should I change!
-there could be another reason that who has to make the most changes in their behaviour or personality in general. Or who has most problems being too friendly or comfortable with their peers. Often, it’s difficult to stand in someone else’s shoes even if it is your spouse. It is difficult to admit who makes more mistakes considering mutual expectations.
-there could be a possibility that when it comes to Ahad he is willing to go any mile for success, or act in certain ways. However, Sajjal being a woman will have to make more compromises.
As far as I know, Ahad grew up in the same city as I did. The education we receive, we usually learn to respect other person’s goals and feelings. Sometimes, you don’t know unless you know it. Marriages work in a similar fashion. Once you recognize that something is difficult to work with, you choose your peace and other person’s happiness over it. They might have parted ways thinking to experiment whether they can be happy after separation. It’s better to end things rather than suffering and building resentment being in a toxic relationship.

i am from india but i have seen all their dramas and interviews in my opinion ahad loved sajal a lot he used shy always to pick up her name in interview and respect alot even he went to her family and made up that marriage in very traditional with parents permission and but there is reality before marriage and after marriage and sajal such an independent girl and strong headed women and one interview ahad said about sajal is feisty they got into reality and they both are two different personalities and dont want to make any compromises , but to be frank sajal did mistake even she was shooting for 2 years almost back to back without giving time to ahad there is a distance and communication gap but love them alot and miss them together
