The Apricot House is now prepared for the holiday season (!!!!!).🎄We had an absolute blast filming this video, and although the Finnish three-course feast went on and on to 1:30 A.M., it was such a rewarding activity to take on. 🌟 We want to cook/bake another feast from one of the countries we’ve visited- between Portugal, Colombia, Iceland, and Spain, which country’s cuisine should we cook up next?! 👩🍳🧑🍳 In just ONE WEEK (!!!), we leave for COUNTRY #16, where we will be experiencing a true winter wonderland right before Christmas! ❄ Any guesses where we’re going? 😁 Have a warm and cozy Saturday, friends! ⛄ Claire (and Chad)
Your tree is beautiful, love the orange garland, and all the travel ornaments. As a Canadian Finn, so wonderful to see you choose a Finnish menu, everything looked so delicious, three of my favourites. 🇨🇦🇫🇮
What a fun idea to make your own garland and even better that it brings the citrus fragrance into your home. How creative! And to top it with a 3-course Finnish dinner... really put us in the holiday mood. I Also, love your earrings, Claire!
Thanks friends!! I could so see the S.S. Pivot with some big holiday lights and a some green garland at the bow. Hope you are staying warm and safe out there!
Loved how you kept your 1st Christmas season in the Apricot House simple, old- school, enjoyed all the homemade touches. Wishing you both a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year!
Your best video yet! Thanks for inviting us to see your festive decorations. So many home made, and travel-memorabke, things truly make things special. Enjoy your Christmas holidays in your new home, and truly enjoy your upcoming Canadian expedition too. James & I were at Sinterklass in Rhinebeck NY all of yesterday... truly magical every year. Peace, Steve & James
Great! The karjalanpiirakka turned out amazingly well, the salmon soup looked just like my mother made and the korvapuusti ❤️... Greetings from Finland and Hyvää joulua - Merry Christmas. You are lovely.
I LOVED seeing all your ornaments that you've collected finally put on your first Christmas tree!!! How exciting! I love the cooking lesson, too! I vote for Iceland to be the next cooking session! Hope you have a wonderful time in COUNTRY #16! Can't wait to see it when you get back! Safe travels!
Thanks Holley!! Happy you enjoyed seeing the ornaments. It's been amazing sharing all of our adventures with you these past few years. Thanks for being a constant supporter to everything we do!
What a treat. I just discovered your channel and had a Chad and Claire Marathon. All your videos are so enjoyable. I love your honesty and good humor. May you always continue to thrive.🙂❤🌎
New subscriber here from North Carolina! I found your channel from the video 📹 you made in Asheville, NC and have been binge watching 👀 since! You two are the absolutely most adorable couple I've ever seen 😍! I love your creativity and the love and respect you share from all the different countries and cultures 🌍🌎🌏✈️🏕🏞🏝🧭🗺! I think you need something with a map, maybe a shirt 👕, and we can color in each country you visit! Merry Christmas 🎄 😇🙏✝️🛐and thank you for sharing your experiences with us 😊 🙏!
Your Christmas decoration of the Apricot House was terrific! I enjoyed every second of it. The sound track was splendidly mixed with the video footage. The decoration of the flocked Christmas tree was unusually fun to watch because the ornaments were collected from all over the globe. I had a hardy laugh when I saw Chad take credit for making the complicated cinnamon pastry when he only put the pastry in the oven! Enjoy your respite before you resume your new adventures.
You guys are amazing!!! Your apricot house is full of Christmas spirit. Your Christmas tree, hand made ornaments, music and the delicious dishes …..fantastic! Cheers to you 🍻🍻
Thanks for sharing your Christmas memories, as you make your own special traditions. The ornaments from each country are definitely a favorite of mine.
You both really got me in the holiday spirit watching this video! Your tree looks beautiful, especially with the orange garlands and special ornaments…very vintage inspired! The delicious Finnish dishes add to the festiveness of the day! Can’t wait to see where head next! Happy Holidays you guys!❤
You can also make karjalanpiirakkas in about 2-bites size in ?appetizer? format. Throw various stuff on them like cold smoked salmon, chives, raw onion rings, thin cuts of salami, aged hard cheeses, stinky cheeses, ham, shrimps, mustard, anything. Or make sweet versions with jam etc. Sometimes karjalanpiirakkas or karelian pies are dipped in hot molted butter or molted coconut oil right after baking in oven to seal the surface and keep them fresh through long dinners/suppers of christmas days or to just add little bit of that buttery taste and feel(that you would appreciate ie. with wine). Good option for chrismas is to make oven-ready karjalanpiirakkas and store them freezer until it's time to bake them. Little bit less hectic christmas. Ps. Stunning christmas tree decor! Pps. Never lit christmas tree candles!
Claire's family uses the same method with freezing dumplings! That's a great tip! Next time we have a holiday gathering we can make them early! Plus we can do bite sized ones! (We will not be lighting the tree candles haha)
I remember coming up to you guys at the hive cafe during my freshman year of scad and saying how much i loved your art!! it's so cool to see all the amazing places you've been and all the new experiences that always inspire me to travel more :)
Small world! Ahh!! We have such good memories at the hive cafe!!! Thanks for supporting what we do and good luck on your future endeavors!! Once a bee always a bee! 🐝 hahaha
Sending a lot of love to you both. I binged watch your videos amazing! I have hope that one day I find love as you two have. I hope you two live a long and happy life.
Love love your tree!! And ornaments! How special! Too bad everything is sold out at your online store! 😢. Happy holidays!! Love Little Women too but the Susan Sarandon one. 🎄
Merry Christmas and well wishes, I can almost smell the food you two prepared in this video. ok that tree is amazing and I love how you now get to put all of your Christmas ornaments from the countries you visited on the tree now. You two are making me so excited about Christmas. Thank you😋😍
You're reminding me with the "Eid El Fitr" (the breaking of fasting Feast after Ramadan) ceremonies that we have in Egypt. it's pretty similar to what you do as we make the "kahk El Eid"(Feast cookies) So, Merry Christmas to you both may God bless you.
Happy holidays to the both of you I’m loving the tree and congratulations on making the house look so nice it has come a long way always stay safe and healthy…. Thanks for yet another great video 🎄
So lovely! Apricot house looks fantastic! Chad is that sweater from Peru? How much was it? Claire I love your sweater and earrings! Do you have a link?
We started to receive a lot of personal messages from our home renovation series and decided to keep the house project more personal. We might do a home tour in the future, but for now we have only shared an updated home tour on our Patreon page. I apologize for the inconvenience, we were a bit worried about our safety and mental health. Thanks for understanding. :D
Wait the karelian pies without topping, where is the eggspread etc.?🙈 actually a total no-go to eat them like that IMO, changes everything. But loved this great vlog, take care

I hope it's Norway
I want to add another guess...SWITZERLAND! 🌨🌨🌨❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️🎁🎄✨️
As a Finn. Impressive. That final finger push to squeeze down the cinnamon bun shows you know you know what you are doing.
Your tree is beautiful, love the orange garland, and all the travel ornaments. As a Canadian Finn, so wonderful to see you choose a Finnish menu, everything looked so delicious, three of my favourites. 🇨🇦🇫🇮
Claire is so talented - everything she touches turns to gold! Merry Christmas!!!
I couldn't agree more! :D
Yeahh as a Finn🇫🇮 Im super impressed you made karjalanpiirakka (carelian pies) from scratch and all the dishes looked delisioush 😍
Egg-butter on warm karjalanpiirakka makes it perfect. Great to see open minded people enjoying different cultures :)
Very well done on the karjalanpiirakka! It's traditionally enjoyed with an egg-butter mix spread on top of it.
Thank you! Next time we will try an egg butter mixture!
Thank you for your Finnish menu. As a Finn I really appreciate it.
