  • In many ways she was a trailblazer. The first mathematician in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first woman dean of a faculty not only in BiH, but in the former Yugoslavia. She acquired her knowledge in Belgrade and Paris.
She studied and worked at the University of Sorbonne (France) and the laboratories of the newly founded Henri Poincaré Institute. She also published a scientific paper there, the first from our region. She provided the acquired knowledge to her country, returning to Sarajevo and educating the coming generations of teachers, scientists and engineers.
Despite an enormous family tragedy, she selflessly fought for success, not only for herself but also for her colleagues and most of all for her students. This year, in her honor, Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation established an award for outstanding female students of natural and technical sciences in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
