I have done some caretaking on several places including on a station in the west pilbara area, >1,000,000 acres. On the most recent occasion I was meant to be there for 4-5 weeks while the owners headed south for a holiday. Well after a week we had record rains and I wasn't able to get out and bring them back in for almost 3 months. Living there by myself with 6 chooks, 1 dog, 2 cats, 4 horses and >4000 head of beef and an occasional emu and dingo of course. Quite an experience I can tell you.
the Station Stays in West Australia are a fantastic experience and a great way to travel. the first Station stays are within a 5 hour drive from Perth in the Yalgoo region and provide a genuine outback experience. The Station Hosts are very welcoming and and the travelers you meet are the most interesting people.
They should have let Steph drive the Kenworth. The station looked like a very hot desert. I follow a family ranch on youtube anchor brand ranch. it is 36 miles by 36 miles. they have adorable kids and even the 10 year old drives the semi tractor to haul water to the cattle. Helicopters for roundup is faster but horse riding used to be a lot more fun. I have done roundups on horse and motorcycle when I was younger, simpler days. Another awesome video, good to learn the north gets hot this time of year. Stay safe and healthy guys.
The Pilbara looks incredible, cannot wait to be able to get there myself one day. Looks like you had an amazing experience at the station, top video guys, thanks for sharing!
Not sure if you're using your new iPhone or upgraded your main camera, but the video quality is great, especially the nature shots like the bird in the tree at 2:39. What gorgeous color and light!
In Latin America that would be an Hacienda. Leigh you better be careful now for she now knows how to "Whip it, whip it real good". That meeting at the end must have been spectacular. ¡¡PURA VIDA!!
"Ranch" is accurate for the US (and Canadian?) equivalent. We have a lot of open grazing land as well that is owned by the federal government. Cattle graze on it and ranchers lease the grazing rights but people can still drive all over it. Just need to close the gates behind you. Did Leigh get to use his new Kayak at that pretty campspot at 7:16 or was that video chronologically after this one?
Didn't expect to see you lot at a Complete show! Went to an early gig of his at the Civic. Spent a lot of time on that beach as a kid too, give us a shout when your closer to Perth 👍
We're back in Perth now but not for long. Headed down south this weekend for the summer. It was really awesome to see Drapht in Dampier. I've been listening to him since I was a young guy although I have to admit I like his earlier stuff better than the recent albums.
@@leighdearle5965 haha yous don't stay put for long. Bloody oath, seen him at the Hoods concert last year. Welcome to post them blades in any old time, would like to see the landy at some point though 😉
Hey guys! Quick question, where did you get the drawer system that sits under the camper? I can’t seem to find one that will hold the weight of my FWC Swift. If it’s custom made, any tips on how to go about building something that will hold all the weight of the camper and yourselves? Thanks!
The drawer is custom made and doesn't actually hold any weight. We have square aluminium tube either side attached to the frame of the camper. The drawer slides on the bed of the Ute itself. The camper sits on this
Toujours aussi envoutantes ces vidéos, merci pour le partage, j'ai essayé d'aller sur Patréon mais c'était tout en Anglais, y a une astuce pour ouvrir un compte et participer en version de chez nous Stephy? (Français)
We carry a Garmin Inreach Mini 2 way messaging system in case of emergency. We've highlighted the importance of carrying an emergency communication device in many of our videos 😉
I’m American but I loved the sneak in “get poked”!!! Pro healthy and happy sex. Thanks for the inclusion of such a cute but important aspect of being out and about with a partner!
Sometimes we need to take a break from filming and just enjoy the moment. We share 90% of our lives on RUclips. This time on the station was a little break from filming.
Big ole 9ohs in Quad set ups and the Stock crates! Proper Australian Trucks!

I can't even wrap my head around a million acre ranch/station. Thats ...big.
VRD [victoria river downs ]was /is ? about the size of belgium [13,000 sq miles ] .
Loved the cattle shots and tribute to your fellow content creators and fans at the 4wd show.

Lovely editing really made me feel like I was there.
Great episode guys. Love the Pilbara too.
Thanks guys, it's a magical place 😍
An hour drive through the Netherlands (east to west) and you're halfway the country :-) :-)
Yes that's true and this is a very small station. Some can be 8 times larger than this. The largest station is 5.8 million acres.
The Pilbara looks incredible, cannot wait to be able to get there myself one day. Looks like you had an amazing experience at the station, top video guys, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the feedback ❤️

We didn't have the kayak at that time. The videos are about 4 weeks behind 😉
You know you're in Oz when you see road trains... and when you use a can holder to keep your beer fresh :-)
Is it me or does Steph speak with more of an Australian accent lately? :)
Haha not just you. Many people have been noticing this 😉
A heard that rite on go
😎👍
Are you pulling my leg. The biggest farm i have been on was 11,000 acres.
No joke 😉 This is a small one. The biggest stations are over a million. The biggest in Australia is 5.8 million acres.

Hi there, from Melbourne. How many kilometres have you done in your overlander...
We've done 70,000km since leaving France.

YY!

Not a biggie, but would be nice to pay respect the Aboriginal tribes that lived in the place for 50,000 years before.
Hello , I am Wondering how can your Land Rover’s Hood could with stand your weight Standing on it ? What is it made of ?
We have an aluminium chequer plate bonnet guard to strengthen the hood to access the roof rack.

Difficile à croire un train avec une transmission manuelle!
Seems like Aussies and Africa have the same problem with soil and foliage type not meant to support cattle.

Disappointed you don’t show more about your visit to the station way too short and not enough detail..

@@leighdearle5965 new to the channel but I must say always the most interesting parts are left out, so 90% maybe not.
