Everyone has their own building style so I guess it really depends per person what pieces and stuff they like to use the most I guess 😄 which is totally fine obviously 😃 I absolutely love the decals and rustic stone wall set of the europe pack tho 😃
I really strugle to rate each pack, so I will rate them in tears. A- South American, Australian and Aquatic B- South East Asian, African and North American C- Delux, Arctic and Europe I'm not much of a creative builder, I strugle to use building pieces as something that it isn't, so I prefer scenery packs like south America and Australia, where building buildings in their theme felt quite straight forward. As well as how much I like the Animals of course. Also your so right, the deluxe edition seems way to expensive after the games release, at least if you bought the deluxe before the release, you got to access the beta. It just seems weird to sell a pack of 3 animals for more than packs of 4 or 7 animals, honestly for the price they are, and the fact you can get the music free on otherplatforms, if I was a new player I wouldn't even bother getting the deluxe, the animals in it really aren't worth that much.
For me the arctic pack is actually one of my favs whereas I never got very invested in the Africa pack idk what it was but just didn't appeal to me as much. Very interesting to see someone else's ranking!
Same I love the arctic pack. All the animals are amazing and amongst my favourite animals. I love the snowy maps, the viking themed huts and festive decorations a lot.
I know this is super late but I agree about the african pack. The meerkat is my favorite animal but I never got super hyped for the pack as a whole, if it didn't have the meerkat I would have skipped it. I was a zt2 player coming into pz and I was disappointment at first realizing the 4 species dlc plan, so I didn't appreciate the arctic pack when it first came out. Looking back it has some really great animals and meh pieces for me. My favorite pack as far as pieces has to be aquatic, animals would be wetlands by far. A pack I thought I'd hate but actually liked was europe, but just for the building pieces. I really think we could have gotten better animals from a different dlc but the building pieces made up for it
I have watched all of your videos and I LOVE them, they have inspired me to build zoos of my own, thank you soooo much, you were the first person to show me planet zoo and now I am in love with it!
In my opinion, the animals should not be a major factor in ranking the packs. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Creations with base game parts however can feel underwhelming when compared to creations with DLC parts. An unpopular animal can shine in a beautiful enclosure, but the opposite is not true. Even an elephant or giraffe can look weird in an ugly enclosure. Based on this my ranking would be: 1. Aquatic pack- by far the best one, to the point I would consider it essential for the game. The building pieces and especially the rocks make any zoo look much better. The habitats that you build for these animals are quite different compared to other animals. Overall it ticks all the checkboxes - animals, parts, mechanics. 2. European and Australian pack- Highly recommended for people who want more realistic looking zoos. With the base pieces buildings have a very unnatural brand new sterile look. These packs give much needed pieces to age your creations. Animal selection is nice as well. Ibex, deer, lynx and kangaroo are pretty much in every zoo IRL so I almost always include them in mine. 3. South America and Africa pack- the pieces here are a bit more heavily themed and are not as essential as those in previous packs. A few bonus points for the llama color variations. Good challenge for people who enjoy breeding. 4. Arctic pack- The steam workshop is an essential part of the game for players who want to play a tycoon and not just 3d painting software. The best, most detailed creations there usually include a wide variety of parts including those from DLC. If you want to just enjoy your zoos with the usual tycoon plop and play experience, get this DLC and the ones above. Go on the workshop, search premade buildings and habitats and enjoy a beautiful zoo. Otherwise, skip this pack. Just four animals of which the arctic wolf is a repainted copy paste of the base timber wolf. Polar bear as stated in the video is borderline unusable due to habitat space. Dall sheep and reindeer are overshadowed by the ibex and fallow deer imo. 5. North America and Southeast Asia pack- no parts included so entirely skippable. Where this pack ends up in your priority list is purely subjective and based on if you like the animals or not. 6. Deluxe upgrade- don't consider this unless it's at least -75% off. 12 bucks for a mere three animals (not very common zoo species at that) and no parts is totally not worth it.

Your videos are great and so much fun. It's nice to watch and listen to someone who really has a passion for something as great as Planet Zoo. I have recently discovered it and love the game ! I purchased all the DLCs right off and I watch a lot of the tutorials. And it's also not so much the animals as being able to design a realistic nature world. Keep up the great work !

Based on the animals as i do not care to bother with architect simulation myself i leave that to the actual talented ones like DeLadysigner i would totally rank South East Asia 1st for the number of animals alone but also i'm just obsessed with this region. Because it is the region i know the least about and for me it is all about learning about animals and how to save them. I would rank Arctic as Skip it, several animals look odd, the reindeers proportions is off somehow and the polar bear is a recoloured bear they do not look like that at all. My most difficult one is Europe, i find it boring as i am European and too used to these animals but for the same reason i need this pack for realism in my zoos. And i will say this, exhibit animals are underrated and would play a factor to me as well. Yes it is boring how they are less movable etc, but that is again mostly architecture, i am sooo grateful Planet Zoo even has these small animals. So the packs that has exhibit animals that stand out somehow with like small animations etc would bump up the rank for me. The beetle rolling the dung

wow as a player who cam ein later on the artic pack is like a top used of mine. I like building colder climate zoos and always make huge zoos so i love it
I don't know if I'm the only one to think this but, the Arctic wolf seemed still as a really odd choice for the first pack of the game,, it feels like it should've been the Arctic fox but they just hadn't figure out that small of animals, that and the fact there's noy really any statues or signs for the animals of the pack it feel like all the potential the pack couple had was kinda missed

I'll be buying Planet Zoo soon, and I've been deciding what DLC packs to buy along with it. I'm not getting all eight packs, and this video has helped a lot in deciding what I should go for. I've settled on South America, Australia, Aquatic and Africa so far, and as much as I like the range of animals in the North America pack, I kind of want to wait and see if the game does get aviaries, then it will be a toss-up between North America and a potential aviary pack.

If you want to make a polar bear habitat in planet zoo you only have to put snow in it because the natural habitat of the polar bear does not look very different

Can i ask a kind soul regarding this? I have the base Planet Zoo game from steam however they have extra bundles which include the base game. do they still factor in the costs of the base game if i bought the bundle?
I think if you click the bundels it will show that you already have a few and will reduce the total amount with that packs price maybe? Honestly never did anything like that myself, so am not 100% sure 😊 Make sure to check out my Instant Gaming link in the description tho, you might be able to get some packs even cheaper there comparing to steam and all you get via Instant Gaming is a key to redeem on Steam, so its the same game but with a discount 😘
As a new player and lover of simulation zoo games, the aquatic dlc is definitely a must have. It's is simply amazing to build habitats for the grey seal.

I don't own planet zoo but I really like the north American pack and aquatic pack because the north American pack includes a lot of animals to build beautiful habitats and we didn't have many north American animals in the game second has to go to the aquatic pack because it has some beautiful rocks and pieces and even though it has only 4 animals(I think) it's still second place third goes to probably the south American(similar to the north American pack we didn't have many south American animals) I love this pack though it's not on top I think it's just beautiful and the animals to(also your my favorite planet zoo Creator out there❤️) hoping we will get a nice pack next
Depends what you want 😃 europe pack also has some nice building stuff in it and a few animals 😊 Wetlands pack is only animals and no building stuff 😊 So maybe question is more.. do you like building a lot? Then i would say, go for the Europe pack, and if you more play with blueprints and focus more on taking care of animals itself, then you might be more happy with an animal pack as you might not be using a lot of the pieces yourself 😊 Both packs are great! Just both in their own way 😘

I had to buy the deluxe pack because pygmy hippos are my favourite animal 😅 now I'm trying to decide if I want any other packs. I'm tempted to get the African one for the meerkats and rhino, not sure I can have a zoo without meerkats!

The animals are nice, but not really all that special Skip it; Deluxe Upgrade Pack, unless you can get it for at least a 60% discount
My tierlist: There is one GREAT DLC: Southeastern Asia animal pack Good DLCs: Arctic pack, South American pack, Australian pack, European pack (nice animals + very useful building pieces) Special place for DLCs have a Aquatic pack (translate: DLC for aquatic animals crybabies) (least have a useful building pieces) Heartbreaker DLC: North American animal pack Total disappointment DLC: North African pack (i dont hate animals i dont hate building pieces but for some reason this dosn't work for me... On the topic of the Habitat requirements of the Polar bear (or any animal for that matter), there is a Network called the AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and in europe its called the EAZA. Those are basicly the regulatory for all the registered zoos (doesnt include private zoos). In those regulations 2 Polar bears need 400 Squaremeters, and atleast 100 of those have to be Waterarea with a minimum volume of atleast 200'000 Liter. The depth has to be atleast 2 Meters deep. So basicly 2 Polar bears on (atleast) 300 SQM of land (mostly concrete in real zoos) and 100 SQM of water. For any additional bear 150 SQM have to be added. If you compare that to the (HARDLY "NERFED/bUFFED") PZ requirements its scary. Lets not start to talk about the fact, that in the wild they Theoreticly have millions of SQKM of space. Also they dive up to 20 M deep. Thats why i personally stopped supporting zoos of any kind, in the sense that i will never again in my life go in a real life zoo/aquarium. I wanna throw this in even tho its kinda random, but for all SALTWATER aquariums (publicly and private) in the world the fish are 99% wildcaught. 1 or 2 probably wont matter but if you combine all of them, a whole ecosystem can fall, just so we can look at pretty fish... Im sorry for my not so good grammar, im originally from switzerland and kinda have to relearn to build good! sentences, i still hope you read it fully and maybe even answer quickly (i mean anyone with this) With all the love a random swiss guys :P

The southeast Asia animals are probably my favorite between the packs. Clouded leopard, dhole and binturong are all perf.

If you want to make a polar bear habitat in planet zoo you only have to put snow in it because the natural habitat of the polar bear does not look very different

I have the base Planet Zoo game from steam however they have extra bundles which include the base game.
do they still factor in the costs of the base game if i bought the bundle?
I think if you click the bundels it will show that you already have a few and will reduce the total amount with that packs price maybe? Honestly never did anything like that myself, so am not 100% sure 😊

I don't own planet zoo but I really like the north American pack and aquatic pack because the north American pack includes a lot of animals to build beautiful habitats and we didn't have many north American animals in the game second has to go to the aquatic pack because it has some beautiful rocks and pieces and even though it has only 4 animals(I think) it's still second place third goes to probably the south American(similar to the north American pack we didn't have many south American animals) I love this pack though it's not on top I think it's just beautiful and the animals to(also your my favorite planet zoo Creator out there❤️) hoping we will get a nice pack next

Depends what you want 😃 europe pack also has some nice building stuff in it and a few animals 😊 Wetlands pack is only animals and no building stuff 😊
So maybe question is more.. do you like building a lot? Then i would say, go for the Europe pack, and if you more play with blueprints and focus more on taking care of animals itself, then you might be more happy with an animal pack as you might not be using a lot of the pieces yourself 😊

I had to buy the deluxe pack because pygmy hippos are my favourite animal 😅 now I'm trying to decide if I want any other packs. I'm tempted to get the African one for the meerkats and rhino, not sure I can have a zoo without meerkats!

Ok; North America Animal Pack. Cougars and sealions 👍 | Europe Pack. Good building items, average animals. | Arctic Pack. Good animals, average building items.
Meh; South East Asia Animal Pack. The animals are nice, but not really all that special
Skip it; Deluxe Upgrade Pack, unless you can get it for at least a 60% discount

Good DLCs: Arctic pack, South American pack, Australian pack, European pack
(nice animals + very useful building pieces)

On the topic of the Habitat requirements of the Polar bear (or any animal for that matter), there is a Network called the AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and in europe its called the EAZA. Those are basicly the regulatory for all the registered zoos (doesnt include private zoos). In those regulations 2 Polar bears need 400 Squaremeters, and atleast 100 of those have to be Waterarea with a minimum volume of atleast 200'000 Liter. The depth has to be atleast 2 Meters deep.
So basicly 2 Polar bears on (atleast) 300 SQM of land (mostly concrete in real zoos) and 100 SQM of water. For any additional bear 150 SQM have to be added.
If you compare that to the (HARDLY "NERFED/bUFFED") PZ requirements its scary. Lets not start to talk about the fact, that in the wild they Theoreticly have millions of SQKM of space. Also they dive up to 20 M deep.
Thats why i personally stopped supporting zoos of any kind, in the sense that i will never again in my life go in a real life zoo/aquarium. I wanna throw this in even tho its kinda random, but for all SALTWATER aquariums (publicly and private) in the world the fish are 99% wildcaught. 1 or 2 probably wont matter but if you combine all of them, a whole ecosystem can fall, just so we can look at pretty fish...
