This is how I always trained my mind to be is like deeds in this movie 🙌🏽 whole hearted, kindful with tremendous amount of respect for anyone who's a stranger or even your townfolk! Treat others how you want to be treated 🙏🏽
There used to be towns here in the US like this.... Where people cared, you were a real community and not just people who lived near each other... Things have gone so wrong in the towns and cities around me...
The quick shot of the helicopter scene was filmed at the Wendy’s in Carmel NY, there was even a patch of freshly paved blacktop where they parked the helicopter… the rest of that parking lot still looked like shit lol
It’s definitely far from Sandler’s best. But I do think this is his most charming film. Nearly everyone is just so easy-going and okay with whatever happens. Even the evil characters kind of just accept any absurdity. It’s just so feel-good from start-to-finish. Makes you wish that real life could be a lil bit more like that reality ❤️
This was filmed in New Milford, CT. Kent borders New Milford. Peter Gallagher at the time, and maybe still does have a place in Kent. I wonder if he just commuted to work.
For anyone out there that happens to be named Longfellow and never knew their parents I’d suggest looking into that immediately. I don’t think there’s one broke person named Longfellow.
I really was expecting that this'll gonna be a movie where the good man gets corrupted by money, but no, its a history about an already successful guy who just go to do what he have to do and finding love (i like so much that the woman is who make everything wrong) whitout letting the fortune change himself
Ha, ha! I'm the guy in the black hat and jean/leather jacket standing behind them in the airport scene. My 0:15 of fame. It was fun though, and interesting.
I hope us folks could be as content as Deeds one day, where even being one of the richest people on the planet wouldn't be such a huge deal and we'd just go on about our lives. ^^ Those are goals right there. He didn't need to be rich. He was already wealthy from the friendship he had with the community. ^^ Billions are nice, but it doesn't seem so much, when you're already content with what you already have. ^^
Adam Sandler made live action PG-13 Disney movies. A barrage of kookie side characters, a good guy that was absolutely good and a bad guy that was absolutely bad, a damsel in distress with a story arc..
Based on his (Deeds) behavior in the film, he probably devoted a majority of his time helping others expecting nothing in return. Couple that with his positive outlook and kind attitude toward everyone he meets, it's not hard to believe he's liked by a majority of those he comes across. He's also in a smaller city which are known for their close knit community attitude and word of mouth gossip which would help spread news of what he does.
The joke is that most of the time someone gets a windfall of money they are over joyed and cant wait to spend it, meanwhile Deeds has everything and wants nothing, 40 billion is nothing to him. In the end he ends up without the money, but something he really needed, a women.
That seems to be an ongoing theme to his movies after the first three. He's like Bill Murray in groundhog day at the end where he devotes his life to making everyone happy. It's almost a little annoying if you watch any sandler movie he's always the nice gracious guy that's trying to help everyone out and make sure everyone gets along and is cool. Almost to the point of a christlike figure... checking on the homeless guy, the mildly retarded guy. The old lady that has some weird as hobby which he supports. If a kid cusses he'll pull him aside and have a heart to heart that the kid actual gets because sandler puts it down real real. It's actually a little bizarre that he's always this humble christlike character.
It took me so long to realize. When crazy eyes said he doesn’t like the 2 New Yorkers. It might be because he was the only person in town that knew em since he regularly watches the stock market.
