Johnny and Liza: what an incredible partnership. She was the only co-presenter that could go toe-to-toe with Johnny; Denise was great with him, but she was always in his shadow; Kelly didn't know what was going on half the time. I love this era of the show. Chris and Gabby were great, too, but Johnny and Liza will always have a place in my heart. The year that Liza was onboard was magical.
@TheBunkerReview Yeah, fair enough. I haven't really got a problem with the fact that Chris Evans and co. came up with the bulk of the ideas. I actually quite liked watching the Chris and Gaby era, too. It's just that Johnny Vaughan made me laugh far more than Chris Evans ever did, which is why I tended to record his era more. I personally would've willingly watched two whole hours of housebound Johnny just because his sense of humour appealed to me, but it's all just personal preference eh?
@TheBrekkieFan Thats cool. I think the whole point of the Big Breakfast was something that was supposed to be light and off beat humor driven show. That was reflective with the variety in the early years. The JV era just turned into 'Johnny Vaughn's view of Britain and what's wrong with it' and it just lost its spark and 'fun' for me.
@TheBunkerReview I know what you mean. With stuff like the paper reviews, Gaggin For It, More Tea Vicar and From Me Shed Son, you just felt "Where are the ideas, where is the creativity?" If only Johnny Vaughan had shown more versatility instead of sitting around it might have been a more successful show than it was.

@themetacrisis she was the best female host, easily. Denise was great to look at but not much going on upstairs to keep up with Vaughny
Johnny Vaughan at the height of his powers. A faster mind you cannot hope to see.
Johnny was and still is... genuis 😉
Vorderman diagonally, genius!
