What makes Downton Abbey film entertaining or irresistible film is the love story of Mathew and Lady Mary. There is so much chemistry between Michelle and Dan Stevens, superb actors.
Dan, PLEEEAAAAASE come back to Downton. I know it's not possible but I just can't imagine DA without Matthew. You were sooooo fantastic on that show. Miss you so much. Matthew was my favorite character and was part of the reason I watched. I still love the show. It's just not going to be the same without you.
I agree with you. Granted, I'll miss him terribly on the show and wish he would come back, but he did fulfill his contract and nothing says he has to sign on more than 3 years. He'll always be Matthew Crawley to me though.
I hope he goes on to have great success, of course it's not everything but in modern day having his looks is a great bonus to his amazing actor skills. Next we'll find out he can tap dance and has an opera voice. Really loved him on downton.

Interesting comment on "breaking America" since Dan Stevens has relocated his family so that he can pursue acting on Broadway. Perhaps he'll stay. BTW, have seen him in "The Heiress". Has put on a bit of weight.

After 10 years I only heard of him by watching Downton Abbey. This is quite disappointing :/
