I love your speckled black and white faced sheep. They are all so sweet and the wee ones, oh my gosh. Makes me want to have a couple in our back yard. We live in a town of about 5000 people and not sure we're zoned for sheep, but it would be an experience.
Changed my life as a tear away youngster, with family on the island I visited every year. By far the most beneficial part of my young teenage years, the effects on calming mental health can't be underestimated. Swimming or even paddling in the sea in summer is very brave lol,it's freezing!. I had to comment when I saw the lamb. There used to be a lady who kept a blind sheep as a pet to save it around oh,40 years ago now,before the radar station and the surfers that followed and the inevitable litter. Funny how places change yet stay the same. We don't need a radar base there they should close it.
It certainly is freezing swimming here, but I’m sure it could be worse. Well that’s what I tell myself as I get brain freeze :-). It’s interesting that things are the same but different in so many parts of life. Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful comment.
Again, great photography/cinematography, compositions, and chat. I love the clip of the sheep running up to the hens, and the beaches... wow.

Hi and thanks for subscribing it's really appreciated. It was a surprisingly crazy year in a totally unexpected way. Although a year has passed it only feels like a few days. I'm sat infromt of my computer at the moment working on the catchup vlog and hope to have it out soon :-) thanks for the support :-) I hope Philadelphia is nice this weekend.

Such fantastic videos - lovely shots of the island and its natural, wild beauty and a great look into your lives as you get on and do wonderful things...Tiree looks astonishing in the sun, and wild and slightly forbidding in the rain and storms.

Hubbie discovered your channel last night (Aug. 17, 2023), coincidentally my Mom's birthday. Our ancestors migrated from Tiree to Canada in the 1850s and I love to find information about the island. Your channel is just lovely.

bit of a eyeopener ,looks a real game changer for the better, you dont look miserables love scotland and the remoteness and nature its beauty is special ,you feel alive ,im looking at the islands and as im in my 60s thinking maybe too late ,but i must admit it looks very tempting ,i dont think id stop grinning to be honest, the best things in life are free and to just experience and take in is special great vid all the best you look very content

I found my great great great grandfather was from here till he moved to a small town MB in Canada. Id love to get there one day

Nice video. I just wondered if you ever shear your sheep of their wool and if so how do they stay warm in such a cold/windy place as Tiree ?
Tiree, although windy sometimes, is warmer in the winter than the mainland hence little or no frost, ice or any real snow. In the summer it’s truly beautiful, not too hot or cold. Our sheep need to have their woolly coats sheared once a year or they become very uncomfortable. We do this as summer starts. Then by winter their fleece has grown back to keep them nice and warm though the mild winters. Sheep can also speed up and slow down (to an extent) how their fleece grows. Our sheep are super grateful when we shear them. They love it. I hope that helps answer your question.

Hi Mary, The sheep are amazing and have been life changing. The last 12 months have been much crazier, (in the best sort of way), than we could have predicted. It meant we just could not seem to find the time to edit all of the video footage we've been taking. So we took the decision to get the crazy under control and then get back on with editing the footage into vlogs. I'm happy to say we've managed to get things under control and are now pulling together some vlogs to recap on the last 12 months. Then when we're all up-to-date we can get on with more regular vlogs.
