Can someone answer this question (doubt). Which senior scholar supported Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab in his time? I don't mean his contemporaries, or those who initially praised him and later retracted.
What is your view on this : Abdullah bin Abu Awfa said “When Muadh bin Jabal came from Sham, **he prostrated to the Prophet** & said: 'I went to Sham and saw them prostrating to their bishops and patricians and I wanted to do that for you.' The messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him said) said: 'Do not do that. If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone other than Allah, I would have commanded nisa to prostrate to their husband. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! No "grl" can fulfill her duty towards Allah until she fulfills her duty towards her husband. If he asks her even if she is on her camel saddle, she should not refuse.' ” - ibn Majah 1853, Nikah

As for worship, it cannot be devoted to any except Allah alone, according to all laws and teachings, but in the past prostration was used as a greeting and by way of honouring people, as the parents and brothers of Yoosuf did, and as the angels did to Adam. This was by way of greeting and showing respect, not by way of worship. I disagreed & said ppl (like Muadh) can error doing sujud of respect which in this umma physically is worship only & still be Muslim as Allah excuses who doesn't know, so then you confused & think Allah ordered shirk if at all.
