Jenelle is just brillant. I've seen Oldman in another interview and he was extremely unconfortable because of a crap interviewer. Here he is being so relaxed and funy.
I have never seen her in an interview. It is a fine art. She is good at it. I have done interviews on Internet radio, as the interviewer, and it is harder than one thinks it is to pull off. In this case, she has a fantastic guest, who has had a long distinguished career.
He's an actor's actor, isn't he? Of all his roles, Sirius Black is my favorite. and it is hard to come up with a favorite. Oldman is consistently the best actor in any project.
This should be required viewing for all budding artists, because most of us encounter far more discouragement and disparagement than we do encouragement or support.
Great interview. This man made me become an actor. I really appreciate the in-depthness of this interview, no pretentiousness. Gary Oldman is one of the best.
After state of grace. I was telling everyone he would be one of the greatest actors of all time. He did not disappoint and im glad people finally have realized.
Welllll??🤔...don't get me wrong, I love 😍Gary Oldman...BUT have you seen Stephen Hopkins 1998s 'Lost in Space'?! Not even Gary Oldman or William Hurt could "save"😒 that movie....
How many knew he played Mason Verger in "Hannibal" alongside Anthony Hopkins and Julianne Moore. Very underrated role...outstanding actor, definitely in my top 3
This generation 🙄 if lucky enough and appreciative enough to see this man's talent r very fortunate he's a one of a kind...he makes amazing movies and a pleasure to listen to...
Wish they'd had a chance to discuss _Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead_ but he's just done so many wonderful performances it's difficult to mention them all. Must say Jenelle interviews so well that it appears effortless. Thoroughly enjoyed this!
A true genius of the acting profession - one of the best and surely the most versatile of repertoires - glad the rest of the world is now waking up to this fact.
When he describes the audition process, and how he hired someone for his own film, we see something special. Casting folk bullying actors to "get something" from them? Awful, really--his kindness shows through. Only a great interviewer can get such a story.
Gosh, he has such a lovely smile. Good to know that now and then, an actor can actually be successful thanks to his ability to act. Fuck all the bullies who suppressed him.
still haven't gotten over his part in Air Force One. Scarred me as a kid. But even then I thought..."wow this guys brilliant." Especially when I learned he wasn't Russian.
He’s a marvelous craftsman and a pure actor. By far the greatest British actor of the last 40 years. Day Lewis has been way more selective hence the aura, but try (like Caine, Oldman, DeNiro, Pacino, Hackman) to be consistently great and to show something special - pretty much every time - across 70-80 films. It’s way easier to be brilliant once every 5-7 years.
He seems like a great person (only few mintues into the video). I have never seen him in interviews and Kevin Bacon and they are both phenomenal in terms of personality. Collin Farrell was a shocker too!!
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a moment in any of Oldman’s performances which hits a false note. If I see his name in the cast, I’m watching it, regardless of my interest in the subject matter. His talent is THAT great!
I LOVE these interviews, but I do wish there were follow-up spur of the moment questions to side comments the guests make. For instance, Gary says he'd like to stomp some of SID AND NANCY into the ground but there's no follow-up as to why or which parts. Gary is revealing some personal truths and they go by the wayside without digging deeper. Get those gems!
Great interview, wish they would have talked about how he got involved with State of Grace and what that experience was like being one of the first films since he moved to the states. Also, wish someone would ask him about Drexl!! Lol someone ask him where he found that guy!
Great interview (as always) but the volume levels are all over the place... I had to crank my speakers up to 10 to follow the interview - until the audience came in laughing in twice the volume. No fun to have to follow an interview while also juggle with the volume buttons every time he makes a joke.
Gary Oldman carries the tradition of Clift, Brando and Dean - just great in "Sid & Nancy" and most exceptional in "State of Grace" - a very humble & funny person as well.
One of the scariest powers good actors have shown me is their ability to draw on uncomfortable experiences, take them out of context and insert them where needed. Sadly, I don't get to see it often. Only on the cutting room floor really and even then it is implied. It's remarkable. I couldn't do that and keep a straight face. While editing I do draw from the well of horrors but I don't have to look like I'm in pain. I can simply be in pain and empathize to more accurately communicate the feeling. The computer doesn't judge and all the producers and directors care about is what they wanted. They don't care how I got there.
I love every interview done by Jenelle, she's fab.
Yes. She seems so positive person :)
Yeah she's a good interviewer. She feels like a fan without gushing.
I couldn't agree MORE! I love her! She is so passionate and so caring! xxx
She is so comprehensively prepared and then add to that her sparkling good nature! She's just the best!
Helps them relax.
Imagine waking up one day, and realizing you're Gary Oldman. He's been playing you all this time. He's that good.
Jenelle is just brillant. I've seen Oldman in another interview and he was extremely unconfortable because of a crap interviewer. Here he is being so relaxed and funy.
Yes! She's so welcoming and has a natural warm to her... I really enjoy her interviews
I have never seen her in an interview. It is a fine art. She is good at it. I have done interviews on Internet radio, as the interviewer, and it is harder than one thinks it is to pull off. In this case, she has a fantastic guest, who has had a long distinguished career.
Does anyone know what he says at 4:08? He is imitating his mother. Thank You.
Does anyone know what he says at 4:08? He is imitating his mother. Thank You.
"oh, you're his hero"
The best "ACTOR"....whorshiped by his peers, admired by the fans, respected by the film and theathre comunity. LEGEND
He's an actor's actor, isn't he? Of all his roles, Sirius Black is my favorite. and it is hard to come up with a favorite. Oldman is consistently the best actor in any project.
Felipe Arce maybe worshiped by fans, admired by peers? he is a legend..
LOVE this guy .... "One night, Juliette forgot to appear at the balcony" .... Almost fell off my chair laughing at that one !
Ah, Gary Oldman, one of my favorite actors of all time.
When I grow up, I wanna be Gary Oldman.
When I grow up I wanna be interviewed by Janelle.
Yes...Gui Oldman😛
Gui Porto me too, except I’m 47.
@@ovaisnaqvi1965 ^^
That role has been taken. No way you're topping that.
Gary Oldman is a REAL DEAL!!!! What a pleasure watching this. It is no accident he has executed such masterful performances,
One of the best interviewer I have ever seen, she knows what she is doing and is totally prepared for it.
"I've crossed oceans of time to find you."
Wow, that is good.
I love how honest he is about auditioning. ❤ He seems so down to earth and sweet. One of my favorite actors. He's pretty funny too.
The interviewer is so great, she's so lovely and calming . Really great interview
Great interview. Lovely relaxed interviewer. She let Gary talk. Hilarious at times. Like an evening at the theatre.
This should be required viewing for all budding artists, because most of us encounter far more discouragement and disparagement than we do encouragement or support.
Unless you’re over 50 and want to start acting 😂
Mr.Gary Oldman is in my personal catalog of the most extraordinary actors and actresses.
I can only dream that I was able to act like one of them.
Great interview. This man made me become an actor. I really appreciate the in-depthness of this interview, no pretentiousness. Gary Oldman is one of the best.
After state of grace. I was telling everyone he would be one of the greatest actors of all time. He did not disappoint and im glad people finally have realized.
State Of Grace, such a powerful film, he steals the show in a film full of great actors
I've seen this video probably 10 times and still can't get enough ... so in love with him! His charisma is irresistible
Best interview of Gary Oldman I have ever heard !
I didn't want to see this because it's so long but I'm glad I did. It is a great interview and Oldman is funny and genuine and candid.
See, their are straight talking people in this world.
Good interview, good presenter.
"Well, what do I do? I'm 500 years old and I'm dead. So they put me in a coffin."
Greatest. Out of context line. *Ever.*
LEGEND! ...One of my most fave interviews with him!
When Mr Oldman is in a movie, you know its gonna be a great film.
Welllll??🤔...don't get me wrong, I love 😍Gary Oldman...BUT have you seen Stephen Hopkins 1998s 'Lost in Space'?! Not even Gary Oldman or William Hurt could "save"😒 that movie....

I agree, one of his best roles!!! I couldn't believe it was him.
He's cheekier than I knew.
Jenelle Riley is wonderfully disarming and perceptive.
“They’re my great accomplishments “ that’s EVERYTHING - just everything ❤️
This generation 🙄 if lucky enough and appreciative enough to see this man's talent r very fortunate he's a one of a kind...he makes amazing movies and a pleasure to listen to...
Brilliant,Wonderful Interview!
Such a pleasure to have Gary Oldman, thanks to SAG for having him, thanks to him for sharing, and thanks to the Interviewer
Wish they'd had a chance to discuss _Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead_ but he's just done so many wonderful performances it's difficult to mention them all. Must say Jenelle interviews so well that it appears effortless. Thoroughly enjoyed this!
It blows my mind that NONE of the interviews I've watched even bring up Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
my very favorite actor of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rare depth & scary brilliance on screen
Leaving aside the pinnacle of his artistry, he is one of the most exemplary human beings I have ever seen . . .
Love Jenelle's interviews, such a pro :)
His acting reel is amazing. It was shown during award’s season for Tinker. One of the best I’ve ever seen.
Gary is such an amazing dude.
She’s great really let’s them speak great questions etc bravo
Gary is one of the best actors of our era. I equate him with Daniel Day-Lewis and Patrick Stewart (subject to opinion). Great upload. Thanks, SAG!
Why is this man so cool?
I totally enjoyed both of them. I wish that she would interview me.
Garry Oldman is one of the best actors ever.
Gary Oldman is such a fantastic actor, he plays so many different characters so versatile man!
So proud of his Oscar win! :)
I don't know if it's me but I just have to watch a Gary Oldman movie 3 or 4 times just to appreciate the Genius of this man
Gosh, he has such a lovely smile. Good to know that now and then, an actor can actually be successful thanks to his ability to act. Fuck all the bullies who suppressed him.

He is amazing! Loved him in Friends, among all his movies! such a great man!
He seems like a great person (only few mintues into the video). I have never seen him in interviews and Kevin Bacon and they are both phenomenal in terms of personality. Collin Farrell was a shocker too!!
Jenelle's interview of Colin Farrell is the one that I constantly go back to, haha

Wish they had a better audio mix. Other then that. Very fun interview.
Superb interview and remarkable actor
the most fearless & versatile actor of our time …the only actor who can make u laugh & cry within the same episode
Nice to see Mr. Oldman relaxed and having a good time with the audience
Great interviewer! Janelle, fantastic !
I love him in State of Grace.
Loved Gary in 5th Element
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a moment in any of Oldman’s performances which hits a false note. If I see his name in the cast, I’m watching it, regardless of my interest in the subject matter. His talent is THAT great!
knowing where the landscape is here or here, yeah i understand completly
God knows my neverending love for this outstandingly amazing genius Man.

Very good interview
One of the best actors ever
He was great in The Professional.
+Bruce Gooding He's been in great in everything I've ever seen him in. Seriously, not just good, GREAT.
His brief screen-time in True Romance was an unexpected treat. I never would've expected him to pull off a dread-locked, scar-faced wigger haha...
Yesss that’s the film I’ve always remembered him for.
Leon is amazing. Not sure why they renamed it for the American market.
44:45 = pure gold
I loved his role in the professional. He was fantastic.
She was so lovely. What a great interview. Who knew Winston Churchill was coming up.
Listening to this with headphones it hits me. He sounds eerily like bloody David Bowie.
He is just a wonderful human being.
This guy played Drexl on True Romance..believable wanna black gangster but amazingly convincing.
Gary Oldman was just so unrecognisable in "Nobody's Baby"...he can be such a chameleon. 👌🏻😍
The best actor of my generation 👌👌
I watched so many sag aftra conversations but I'm telling it's the best one out of the rest
Meisner - Living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.
That is what I am studying now. Meisner in my opinion is one of the best technique for any actor or artist.
@@Luvie1980The basis of Meissner's technique is the Konstantin Stanislavsky system.
44-45.10. What an incredible actor is this man...

Interviewer brilliant as always. Tinker Tailor is an excellent film and Gary did it justice
have been trying to remember if I have ever seen a better interviewer /moderator.
no.

Somebody needs to cast Gary Oldman in a pure comedy. He would be great.
The sketch from the guy in the wing, Hilarious👏
He is just THE BEST
Best actor alive today.
he was fantastic in state of grace

Only if I could meet him :(
LoL. "My Lord!"
It'd be the usual bullshit...My Lord'! xD
!😉he was almost as scary in the professional as DRACULA!😅😉☺great ACTOR!!//HES hilarious !!!
I concur with your sentiment.
Such wisdom here..
NIL BY MOUTH was brilliant.
Actually Jim Carrey has said that there were no prosthetics at all for fire marshall Bill !!
Gary Oldman, saw first in " Made in Britain. Tim Roth, lead roll.
Nil by mouth is one of the great British films.
Gary Oldman is brilliant. End of story.
