What is the tank you used for this? I bought the plans for the 150 gallon stock tank but want to do the measurements on this tank/look at it before purchasing these plans. Can you share?
I don't "know", but speculating based on look, seems he switched to a chest freezer. Considering the cost and effort as compared to a tank, this may be the most economical way to go (built in chiller and insulation for a little more than double the stock tank and no external water chiller needed (far less if you find a used one)....Again, just speculating, but we'll find out Friday. Either way, all the info provided is of value and great no matter the method of DIY used. Keep up the great work man.
I am looking to buy the plan but the description doesn’t have much info. What are the dimensions for the final tub? What is the wood for the top, want to make sure its something I can get locally. Thanks!
Looking on making a cold plunge similarly to yours if not just buying the plans, does your plans include making the framing water tight? I saw you used spray foam for underneath so I’m assuming you have it water tight?
What do you mean making the frame water tight? The plan covers everything from start to finish but the basic steps are frame, wrap, insulate, finish the exterior 👍
@@MrMitty Ah got it. It's wrapped with tyvek, siliconed seams, and room for water to breath/dry out if it does get water where it's not supposed to go.
I used this, and it has been fine for me. You could use deck stain or something like that too. www.homedepot.com/p/Varathane-1-qt-Jet-Black-Premium-Fast-Dry-Interior-Wood-Stain-386611/324167341
Nice work.
Thanks!
First!! Does that get me free plans 😂??
😂 I appreciate the enthusiasm!
For this kind of lid setup, would you recommend using a gasket seal, foam weatherstrip or just the foamboard sitting flush on the tank?
Not sure what you mean. What you see in the video is exactly what I use.
Beautiful build. I was gping to buy your plans but im in canada. By the time you add on delivery and customs fees. Its getting up there in cost.
Oh no! I wonder if there are tank manufacturers up there.
@@DIYColdPlunge been looking. Tough to find something similar.

What kind of tarp did you use & did it hold up well?
This is a heavy duty tarp from my local Menards. It's held up fine so far.

Curious what stain you used on this lid and if that’s better to use over paint?
