- In this video i will try to cook meet on a Swedish Torch Fire. It is not so simple, but very interesting. The idea was borrowed from youtube channel Advoko Makes / @advoko

I'm always learning new things about bushcraft almost everytime I go out to the woods. A little word of advice from my own experience. Don't hammer your axe at all let alone with another axe. If you must hammer it for some reason, use a beater stick or something. That's a great way to damage or loosen the head of your axe.

One of the great tragedies of my life was dropping a whole pot of noodles in tomato sauce on a rock somewhere in the Swedish mountains, after two weeks of hiking on VERY tight rations. My eyes still turn misty when I think about that noodlecovered piece of rock, haunting and taunting me 35 years down the line. If I could have only scraped it off, but it was too fundamentally mixed up with dry moss and other above-the-treeline debris, thinning out by the moment and dripping off into the oblivion of other rocks and boulders. There was so much of it. Like half a trangia pot full, and it was given to me by people, as hungry as me, who bizarrely could not abide tomato - so it was EXTRA above and beyond the scope of my own rations - a blessing from the fates, such sudden richness. I held it only so so briefly, fleeting and fragile as a whisper on the wind, and then the potholder gave out on me and it slipped … slipped forever … onto that one fateful rock which forever haunts my cursed dreams 😫
You only laugh about lost food if you’re on some kind of weekend outing of plenty!!! 😬😳😓

Хорошие там у них леса. Зашёл в кусты, и тут же нашел сухие чурбаки, напиленные бензопилой. Вот бы и у нас в тайге так! А то всё самому приходится делать. ☺️

😂 Yeah, like everyone else couldn’t help but comment… the yolk was on you! 😂 That was gold. And kudos for leaving it in, as your own laugh at the whole situation not only had ME in tears… but it was great to see a “fail” taken lightly! Prior to all that though, the project was a huge win. Obviously very nicely precut logs, but the execution was flawless. I also liked the practical use of charcoal to trace out an even square. For the most part not necessary, but it shows a practical tip most don’t think about.
Good stuff kiddo. Really enjoyed this video. Stay at it. These skills are going to be necessary in the not too distant future I’m afraid…

When you chopping the wood, try to use more of your wrists at the end so when u hit the wood axe should be horizontal, that way yow will use more force from the weight of the axe itself and that will do the job for you a bit :)

Камера неподвижно,на штативе,без оператора... Мы допустим в детстве штабики строили,по лесу шлялись. В таком возрасте детей рожать уже надо,воспитывать,не хернёй заниматься. Не в обиду,всему своё время.
Она уже спит сним и не только.....

You should watch some videos on how to split wood. I'm serious.
my family has heated with wood...since 1997, and I am now 67 years old but for the first 20 years or so I did not ever split any wood we usually splitter or my sons did it after a heart attack and a stroke I got addicted to splitting wood by hand with a mall and love it! :-)
After my first experience with it and I almost killed myself doing it cuz I almost got had a heart attack but I watched videos on how to split wood and you hit you were very accurate with your hitch and I think you'd be awesome but you were hitting the same spot every single time right in the middle of the round of wood at the end of the video you do that speed up so I watched the whole thing of your supremely accurate and your farm was great but you're just hitting it in the wrong place you look at the checking and you hit at the edge of the wood about half of your blade on the wood and half of it off of the wood near you lined in with lined up with a split the crack the checking. then our next bill you can do you get to there and then you do one on the far side of the wood from that in line with that same check and with the first blows you did on the near side hit on the same line on the far side and I do this with big 20 and 30-in oak rounds and I'm not talking pine that's easy to split but big gnarly fiber wood or if there's a half inch piece of fiber, you can't pull it apart by hand.
that round is but you could just put that without 1/10 of the blows at least on your initial split where you first split it in half:-)

Good Job with the swedish torch... And the eggs.. I smiled with your experience... Next time look for another kind of rock (not sandstone if possible), thinner... An Advidce about the ax... Try to put your right hand (if you are right-handed) near the head of the ax when lifting it, and as it goes down, slide your right hand along the handle until it reaches the left hand. The work with the ax is much less tiring like this. Greetings from Spain...
