Hello and welcome to my quarantine zone. In this chill vlog I show you a day in my life in quarantine alone in New York City and chat about all the emotions / anxieties / phases I’ve been having the past couple months. For a while now, I've been thinking that somehow I have this innate flaw, or was always bound to creatively 'peak' too early. I look back at my writing and the way I captured my ideas when I was younger and there is so much more vibrancy to the, as If I had a zeal that I somehow now lost. Feels good to know I am not the only one to feel like this from time to time. thank you.

This is truly a cinematic masterpiece, I laughed, I cried, reflected a lil bit. You are truly talented
I don't know why, or maybe I know but just not how to put it into words, but that scene on the ending, when she was baking cookies, dancing and singing along, changing her sheets, with her thoughts at the bottom, and the song's lyrics being clearly heard---that hit differently. I felt that.
I’m a guy and I know that like 99% of her audience is female and I’m obviously not interested in all the “girl things”. I just feel like her vlogs are so comforting and as a big introvert the kind of things she talks about are really relatable like the “grinding the jaw” and the other introvert things that she talks about like at the fashion show and being really exhausted talking to people. Watching her videos might not be very “masculine” but I hope that people understand and agree with why they watch her. I’ve been thinking about it a lot but a feel like we need to break this sterotype of guys needing to not talk about things like this and never opening up or doing anything emotional. Breaking this sterotype could help so many things like the high suicide rates in young men and a lot of mental health issues overall. my mom died almost three years ago and one of her fav things was her lil rainbow crystal she would hang our sunniest window. every time she could, she would stand there twirling it and looking at all the rainbows it cast into our house. we lost her crystal when we moved out of our house, but this vid reminded me of those little rainbows she loved so much, and i already ordered two for myself and my siblings. thank you for this special little reminder

I am watching this 2022 and now looking at a 20 something girl staying alone at home and finding joy in baking cookies and singing along to old playlists makes me tear up... because even though the pandemic has calmed down... I still relate to this video. Nothing much has changed, everyone's still lonely, life is fucked up and the pandemic just helped us to realize all of that... Time just passes by while I watch it. Even when something exciting happens in my life I spend the whole time stressing myself out by trying to "live in the moment" and end up not enjoying anything. It's a real struggle and it's very comforting to see that I'm not the only one struggling with this c':

The past has gone and there is nothing we can do about it except let it go. We often remind ourselves or are reminded by others how we haven't been productive in the past but always remember everyday is a new day and every new day is a new opportunity. If you miss a subway you take the another one. But before anything forgive yourself for the past and heal. It's never too late to start. You might think life is too short to be taking time for yourself but life doesn't have be long it needs to be big and you can make it big on your terms and at your own speed. Even when you are stuck you are very much alive, just take the time to rest. Don't be so hard on yourself. Sending love your way.

I've been alone in quarantine 51 days by myself because of recent heart surgery and an autoimmune condition. If I get sick, I'll probably die. People have been so helpful with grocery shopping and picking up my RX, but they never stay more than one minute - even if we're both wearing masks and are more than 12 feet apart.
I walk my dog and so I see other humans, but I don't have face-to-face conversations. It's really getting to me and today is my birthday. I've invited my friends - and everyone on Facebook who sees my posts -- to drive up and honk or wave at me. I've also asked for someone to bring me a balloon.
Initially, since I live on the second floor of a two-family house (nobody lives downstairs now), I thought I might throw cake at people who come to wish me Happy Birthday (I am 66 today), but then thought that might come across as hostile. So instead, I've made a big colorful sign that says, "It's My Birt'day" and I'll just wave during my calling hours, which will be noon to 2 p.m. (it's freakin' freezing here in Connecticut).
I had to laugh about what Ashley says about showering. I have a piece of paper taped to my bathroom wall so I can check and see when is the last time I showered. I can kind of tell by how gross my hair gets. My record without a shower so far is 10 days - eeewwwww.
But usually I shower the morning of my phone-call appointment with my therapist, which is once a week. Because we can see each other, I also put on makeup, earrings and a fresh outfit. Otherwise, I find it difficult to put any effort into my appearance.
But listening to Ashley, I feel like I want to shower and dress up every day from now on, because it might help me from going completely bonkers. Once it actually turns into Spring, I think I will wear only dresses - I have a LOT. And hats (also have a LOT).
Ashley, as always, I find your honesty very refreshing. Thank you for making these videos.

I tell my husband this all the time! You grow up a certain way, and with access to things others may not have. You may always try to compare yourself to your best friend who is the same age as you. But you took different paths and had different opportunities in life than that other person. You can’t compare your achievements, or where you are in life because of the different paths you took. It’s definitely hard to get in that mindset. I still compare myself to others, but try to get in the mindset of how we took different paths and had different opportunities in life. I’m 26 and still trying to get into this mindset. Hang in there everyone 💜

I’ve been wondering for what feels like ages, “how is Ashley bestdressed doing? Is she well? How’s her mental health? Is she wearing her mask?” And now I know!

The whole mask-wearing thing in the US is so weird. In Australia, we have been recommended that only healthcare professionals and sick people or people who are really high risk get masks. Anything other than an N95 doesn't really help you, just means you're gonna touch your face more... It'll help keep me safe from others that are sick & vice versa incase I'm sick and don't know it. Our spit travels, and can stay in the air for hours, so something is better than nothing. I love how Australia & New Zealand did a great job. Unfortunately you see who's in charge in the US so we're f*cked.
I've ordered some fun fabric masks on Etsy & other sites, so if I have to wear them, at least make it fashionable with Marvel, Disney & other designs. :)

It's been a year when this video was released but I kept coming back and watch the whole video whenever I feel lost and empty. This video was release when I was dealing with my anxiety the whole quarantine season and I found comfort when Ashley posted this video. It's sad to be honest... But I was glad to feel that I was not alone and lonely. I found strength little by little and I am grateful to Ashley.

Hey Ashley, I don’t know if you are going to read this message or not but your videos have helped me through some low moments of my life. I was quarantined alone in a foreign country and on some days I would randomly come back to watch your video. Your job can never be pointless :)
I feel so comforted and just… I can relate to Ashley on a certain level and that just makes me feel so much more better. Listening to peoples’ issues/ trauma/ any negative thing that’s happened to them makes me sort of connect. It’s sad to see others having troubles but it’s also such a great way to understand other people.

I'm 13 and I'm home alone all day every day, when my mum is actually home on the weekend she spends all day ignoring me. I know I am super privileged during these unprecedented times- I have a roof over my head and food and ways to contact people. I hate when people say things like "others have it worse, suck it up" or "at least you're not ___". Other people have it worse, and I truly feel terrible for people who do have it worse than me. However just beacuse you have these privileges, does not mean you have to be happy or enjoy this time. This is absolute shit. You are not a bad person for not being physically or mentally able to "suck it up". You are so very strong right now- no matter what situation you're in.

@@emericcson123 oh my gosh me too! I had just moved from the bay in California to Manhattan in December. I was finally feeling at home and like my life was going the way I wanted when Rona hit. I moved back to Cali in March to crash with my Mom and am also unemployed. Been really difficult but I try to stay grateful that I was able to get out of the city and can be close to family right now.
