- In 2023, we had the pleasure of visiting what may just be the most disappointing theme park of our lives. Sunway Lagoon in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia was an experience we’ll never forget - for all the wrong reasons.

I spent the entire video thinking "ehh, this looks lackluster but nothing too awful. I'd check it out & just explore if I was in the area, & just lower my expectations." Then you got to Part 4 & the mic check....ya, it's a massive no from me. Thanks for doing the Lords work for the rest of us 😂😂

I'm not going to lie you may have been through the worst employee interactions I could ever imagine.
As an operator myself at Holiday World, you never ever startle your guests or make them feel uncomfortable.
I don't know how I would react if I experienced the sudden clap that you went through from that employee, especially since I'm autistic and that would most definitely trigger me in a negative way.
(That's scarier than any horror maze.)
As a person who’s visited the park multiple times throughout my life as a local, I can attest that the park and its operations has regressed overtime.
The Sunway group really doesn’t give two sh*ts about this park anymore. Of their portfolio of hotels, resorts, hospitals, academic institutions, malls and more, Sunway Lagooon is probably the most loss-making of them all.
I’m truly surprised it still exist. I feel like they’re better off tearing it all down, selling the assets and converting it into a multi-use event venue (which we don’t have enough of for events, like concerts, that need a capacity of 60,000+)
Yeah...in fact even the construction subsidiary is rolling in profits...says a lot that Sunway thinks that the theme park is not really important
I was planning to go there during the malaysia weekends. Obv that was a fail lmao
They rlly had to “improve” their rides and CLOSE their biggest attraction, a freaking world record surf pool, on a freaking school holiday :) like that shits when everyone be going on trips with their family, and u could have done that ON ANY OTHER schoolday, where there are less customers😭 i was so disappointed, bcs it included everything i ever needed to play. But the conclusion is: *Sunway doesnt give two shits if you’re disappointed, bcs most ppl are just rich and bought that expensive ass annual pass, so ofc Sunway doesnt care about losing customers. He doesnt care abt ppl like us, who can barely afford an annual pass for 4 members of the family. If an attraction is closed, annual pass users can just come another day. No big deal*
My family's been there once when i wasnt born yet, and they had a great experience. Well, i guess some ppl change when its impossible to lose money anyway.

They have another "theme park" that is out of the city called Lost City of Tambun where you could waste another day but probably could get another funny review out of. haha

you know what, i'd still go, so long as i had someone with a sense of humor with me.
That whole park gives me backroom vibes. But dear god, I am shocked at the prices. Cost's more than a day in Europe's best parks, such as Europapark, Efteling and Phantasialand.
Half way across the world? Malaysia is comparatively close to Australia.

I am thinking about visiting Sunway Lagoon sometime in the future just to ride this. It is my favourite flat ride.

I kinda want to go there, it sounds like a train wreck. Plus the bad movies like Scream Park would be a huge draw for a Mystery Science Theater fan like me.

To be honest...considering there are laws against gay relationships in general...you had to prepare yourself for this...and to say that the population of this country are conservative (in fact an politician from an even more conservative faction unexpectedly won a state legislative seat in neighbouring Taman Medan a year ago) is probably an understatement...

Why call the distance from Australia to Malaysia “halfway across the world” …. You guys are practically neighbors. I’m just confused, do you not realize how close the distance is ? It’s like me as an American saying Cuba is halfway across the world. It just doesn’t make any sense. Lol.
Flying is expensive from Australia no matter where you go. Also Australia is huge so Sydney to KL is still almost 9 hours of flying.
for family with small kids, we appreciate such themepark as it's kids friendly. i guess it meant for kids, not adult.

The reason why this park still exists and keeps slapping on "attractions"? Sunway has too much money and Malaysians love to accept mediocrity. It's really a pity.
Will never forgive them for the death of Wonderland.
sorry about this experience, just got back from a 4 day stay at tokyo disney resort... you are going to love Fantasy Springs... we are waiting for your review of it.

Jeez, even the tiny amusement park down the street from me is probably more entertaining (at least the rides are actually running during park hours).

Ngl this is the only park everyone goes in the KL region during weekends and holidays. Everyone around me loves it

I think "Dismal Land" in Somerset, England may have met its match with Sunway Lagoon, Malaysia. Both soul-crushing/depressing/existential crisis inducing amusement parks, but for vastly different reasons!
On a side-note, I had a friend who decided to rock the gondola on a trip to Santosa island, Singapore. It terrified me to the extent I had to sit on the floor for the rest of the trip. We got a taxi back!
