Scams are everywhere in Egypt even in the big showrooms. We went to a huge perfume showroom and bought frankincense. When we flew back home and unwrapped it, it was peppermint oil. But we got lucky with the papyrus painting. We picked up one at the Egypt Papyrus Museum in Giza. It's been 7 years since we framed it behind glass but it's still unwarped and in good shape.

I would also 100% buy or taste local made tea, incense, food, perfumes and unique brass products in any place, that’s one of the purpose of travelling … you sit there with your trolling relatives, eat desi only.. instead of travelling watch reels/shorts and feel that you are travelling.
