16th June 2021, all the infrastructure changes have been completed, including the reinstatement of the loop at Brading, (it just runs through the station area this time, previously it was double track all the way to Sandown, removal of that track allowed it to be used on the steam line from Havenstreet to Smallbrook Jct. in the 90's). They're still working on commissioning the "new" 484's, two of which are now on the island, one of which was dragged through the Ryde Tunnel to the Esplanade Station and back for the first time last week. Re: the 483's (1938 Stock), two of the ones being preserved have now gone to their new homes on the island, 007 to the Steam Railway, 004 as a static conversion to a cafe, 2 have gone for scrap (002 and 009), that just leaves 006 and 008 which are destined to return to London, at least one, possibly both, to the Epping - Ongar railway.
They will be classified as 484s as they will be fully electric. There will be a blockade of the line in January February and March to improve the track and install the loop at Brading
Got to give credit to these trains for 82 years off service they put the pacer to shame
only been on thease once lost my camera and 50 photos 😫 gonna miss the old veterans

Weird to think they have been in service since 1938 😂
The 1938 Stock was in Service 1938-1988 and Was on the Island Line 1989-2021
These trains were in regular passenger service longer than most people get to live. There's a thought for you!
This is the best video ever...
I've got to film here one day (amazing vid, I feel this is common knowledge at this point)
The 38 tube stock dies hard.
First clip the lights are not turned on at the front.
Some still on the underground (as charter services)
The 483’s would remind you of the 1938 stock on the tube
They are
Yeah XD
@@1BarnetTE. everyone knows that
There goes my 💰.
They're being replaced soon by class 230's. Don't know when though. I would imagine the track will be upgraded too..

@@thetransporthub And April, May, June and July at least, as things have panned out!!
Wonderful!
Many thanks!
They accelerate real fast
Seems all old trains do
@@carnivorousvegan69 nah not all old trains. Most old trains built before 1991 are slow as hell accelerating wise.
