bro, i never really realized how amazing animals were until i was literally only 2 mins into ur video!! i never thought of grasshoppers as insects w armor, ive always hated them instead lol. and birds are so much cooler to me now too! i love ballpoint pens as well as they are perfect for building confidence and letting your mind easily sketch without second thought since u cant erase this is also really realistic imo, like the portrait sketches are similar to mine and i love how you capture the overall/general picture rather than going for detailed and realistic depictions love the video!
Thank you Chris for a very informative and inspirational presentation. You are so right about using the good old ball point pen, they are such a valuable drawing tool. You mentioned that you got your references for faces from Pinterest. Are the bird and animal references also from Pinterest? Thanking you once again. Jenny
Amaaaazing, thankyou! 😍😍😍 and so inspiring- I must get back to my daily sketches and try an owl! I had a stressy month and got out of the habit, and now it’s somehow hard to restart. I feel like biro sketching maybe says something about the artist’s temperament. It’s such such an un-flashy and affordable tool, reliable, direct, works well on cheap paper too. Kind of the opposite of an instagram filter😂 PS for anyone in the UK, I just found a yellow ochre and a green-black in an unbranded set of 10 coloured retractable ballpoint pens at B&M. £2.00. Anyone know unusual coloured biros elsewhere?
Great channel and artist 👨🏼🎨🎨
