FILM ROOM: CAN TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS BE VITAL IN ROOKIE YEAR??

  • This video provides a film breakdown of Trayce Jackson-Davis, aka TJD, in the first start of his career as a rookie against the Kings in which the starters played starters minutes to simulate a regular-season approach despite it being a preseason game. What's important isn't that it's a preseason game, but his understanding of the game and the skills he possesses.
    Based on what I've seen so far, he looks like the best all-around center the Warriors have had since the start of the championship run. That's saying a lot, considering Bogut is a part of that equation.

    Seeing a rookie not trying to do too much and just stays solid. What a breath of fresh air.

  • @Grievous_

    Trayce is already a better fit than Wiseman and an infinite upgrade over Jamychal Green, this roster compared to last year has bench versatility and players who give it their all on the DEFENSIVE side of the ball. Defense, rebounding, and more defense! That’s the key to winning a championship! And TJD has been excellent at both in his time on the floor. I’d also like Bpodz to get minutes over Corey Joseph no offense to him but I just like Bpodz game more and he can rebound better than him. Great analysis!

    Trayce Jackson Davis, aka TJD, is an absolute gem for the Warriors and is ready to contribute immediately. I foresee him playing a role for them in the playoffs despite being a rookie - he's that good. Let me know your thoughts.

    • @truthserum6672
      @truthserum6672 7 месяцев назад +1

      Steve Kerr is committing a crime not playing him the first 2 games. Playing small lineups and giving starters minutes to GP2. We can't rebound like this and it will cost us in the end. Saric don't need no more minutes at the center position unless it's an emergency situation

    • @truthserum6672
      @truthserum6672 7 месяцев назад +1

      It's also hurting Wiggins and Klay

    • @truthserum6672
      @truthserum6672 7 месяцев назад +1

      Chris Paul can play with Stef & the starters but he needs to lead the bench now, before he gets to comfortable with the starters

    • @truthserum6672
      @truthserum6672 7 месяцев назад +1

      Steve Kerr needs to set the lineups. So his only worry will be when to sub back in Stef after going to the bench and when to bring in GP2 for defensive duties.

    • @truthserum6672
      @truthserum6672 7 месяцев назад +1

      Starters~ Stef, Klay, Wiggins, Draymond, Looney
      Bench~ Paul, Moody, Kuminga, Saric, Trace Davis the Rookie
      Spot duty~ GP2, Quinones
      Podzienski & Joseph don't need to play unless somebody gets hurt, too bad let them suffer.. Rebounding SOLVED and Klay and Wiggins will get back in the flow

    Fantastic analysis Jim. TJD will most likely prove himself to be the steal of the draft if Kerr gives him the opportunity to shine.
    The next step for him would be to work on his defensive timing for blocks and on the offensive end making sure he finishes those put back opportunities and develops a solid post game. Having an explosive center that can get us a few easy buckets and draw fouls will only make our offense better.
    Luckily, he has a great defensive mentor to watch everyday in practice.

      The film room will help with timing on blocks. Knowing which players like to hang in the air to finish shots will inform him.
      For example, against keegan murray you want to conteat half a second after he jumps.

    I'd say the biggest surprise in TJD's game is how disciplined he is as a defender he does a great job protecting the rim without fouling. I loved the draft pick for the potential fit in the offense however the defense has made him a great option for us. I really enjoy him and saric in a 2 big bench lineup

    I think that Kerr was masterful in how he was loyal to his vets but let them prove that they need more help from the younger players. It’s obvious now, and hopefully giving the youngsters more minutes will inspire a healthy competition and will motivate everyone involved to give their best effort. I think that ‘Strength in Numbers’ will definitely be necessary to compete with all the talented teams in the league now.

    At first glance he kinda reminded of Okafor but I think he has the potential of being even better. With playing time he should only improve. I can't wait to see what he does against the likes of Giannis, Embiid, AD and of course Joker. Other than Giannis he's probably quicker than all those guys. He's already gotten the basic fundamentals down so the sky is the limit for this kid. Fundamental wise he's already on a different level from Kuminga. Shows me how important college is. Wiseman should of waited another year or two he's already been in the league going on 3 years and he's miles away from TJD's level. 😢
