    Nikolai Schirmer started with a EV (also from polestar) a few years ago. I appreciate your thinking about the environment and your habits. Freeriding itself is most of the time not eco friendly. The only eco way is: you live in the mountains and ride the bike.
    The talking of you and Niko about sustainability feel like greenwashing to me. Most of the people watching your content, don't live in northern-scandinavia. But with your videos you animate them to ski in northern scandinavia. How do they get there? By plain.
    In the end all the freeriders from abroad will lead to overtourism with more flights and more cars driving around (EV cars are much better than normal cars, but still they have CO2 emissions).
    Let me sum it up: I really appreciate it to encourage people to change from their 4wheel drive big combustion engine powered car to a electric car. But it's just a step and doesn't solve climate change. I hope the arctic remains wild and quiet. It is shocking to see the crowded videos with heli skiing from your early years. The arctic is precious, so let's preserve it!

I can't wait for the next part of the series! Keep up the good work, and continue to make good decisions!
    I've been wondering about this since you started the Arctic Lines; when do you chose the Ultracraft over the Solution, and vice versa?

    • @AnttiAuttiChannel
      @AnttiAuttiChannel  Год назад

      Hi thank you. This is exactly the way I also watch projects in youtube. In regarding board choosing. It really depends on conditions and terrain. On this particular occasion the only time I chose Solution was in Gagnesrenna because the open field was very nice for bigger turns. I knew that maybe I will not be able to ride the board as good in the lower section but it was well worth it to ride all that great snow in that very wide space up higher in that line.
      For a bit more technical terrain that still requires turns in narrow parts I like to use Ultracraft, in fact this is a board which I rely the most because it works nicely for pow until certain speed and gets you usually out of difficult stops due to it's shape and ability for quick turns.

    Great 1st episode! Just want to ask for an advice.. Are couloirs generally safer to ride than open field slopes since they are probably bit more protected? Or its wrong to consider couloirs safer? Obviously depends on conditions, but in general?

    • @AnttiAuttiChannel
      @AnttiAuttiChannel  Год назад +1

      Thank you. Happy to hear!
      Regarding your question; in some ways couloirs mght feel a bit more safe because you are surrounded by the rock walls and and you can sort of figure out some safe spots. But in reality, it really is an illusion in my opinion. It all comes down to understanding your own ascent and descent skills, the snowpack, other mountain hazards and current weather conditions when you are out there as you also mentioned.

    Great work on this episode!
    Was this already filmed this season or is this footage from last season? Not so sure anymore since everything is on youtube...^^
    When i think about the times i was starting to snowboard, the DVDs you easily got a were sticked to the front page of a magazine. Just because of the time it took to cut the videos and produce the DVDs you knew, the clips were from the previous season(s).
    Regarding electric charging: one thing i realised while watching you struggle to get the charging stations to work with apps etc. was, that gas stations are so easy to use because you don't need some app for all the different companies etc. You can usually go to a gas station only with your bank card and can get gas. Imagine if you would need a different app to get gas from a tamoil or socar or BP gas station. Everybody would f-ing hate it. But somehow nobody gets annoyed if for the same service you from different companies you need different apps - for something that does not need an app.

    • @AnttiAuttiChannel
      @AnttiAuttiChannel  Год назад +1

      Hi thank you. Happy you like the episde. It was filmed last winter and I fully agree in regarding DVD and mag times.
      You are also correct in regarding the app matter. There are solutions for it where you can use stations much easier but this was exactly the same thought I had in regarding charging vs fueling. A person getting an electric car must be ready to do a bit more research than just going to a car retailer for a test drive. Still, I think charging is not difficult when you understand the system but making it more easier is of course something that companies offering the service must aim to do. To make them a bit easier so that my dad, for example, would consider taking a car for a spin:)

    • @AnttiAuttiChannel
      @AnttiAuttiChannel  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your comment.
      The production of electric cars now produces somewhat more emissions than an internal combustion engine car, but many manufacturers have set the goal of making carbon-neutral electric cars with renewable energy. In this way, the electricity used to make the car and drive it is cleaned quickly and the situation improves.
      A similar rapid reduction cannot be achieved with combustion engine because the use of is mainly based on fossil oil.
      Battery manufacturing and the metals used in batteries are developing rapidly and metals are recyclable, for example new batteries do not need cobalt or nickel at all (they are made from lithium, iron and phosphate)
      Polestar, which was involved in the project, has set the goal of making co2 neutral cars and also the procurement of metals in a transparent and traceable manner. They are also the only car brand that has complete LCA reports publicly per model. (LCA - life cycle assessment)
      From my point of view, I can say that the interest in these things has grown a lot through my own non-environmentally friendly solutions that I have made, and even though such one-man experiments will not save the world, it is really interesting to test and try things that are likely to be better for the environment.

      Exactly.. not to say, that their production is much more eco-unfriendly, than normal cars, so is the production of electricity in most countries (Norway with it hydro power plants is exception) and it is first of all really bad agenda, not real honest intention "to save the planet". Let's be real... The whole Green deal and CO2 is fake bullshit, to control people... These insane people, who force it (and covidism and other bullshit), do not give a shit about planet, they all fly to the meetings in private jets... They want just control. CO2 is NOT the reason of climate change (not to say "global warming", Arctic ice is getting colder/bigger last years, so they started to call it "climate change".), climate has been changing all the time, people are having very small impact on it, max 3-5%. Much worse is pollution, not CO2, which is in reality the gas of life. In fact it is quite opposite, than the green agenda says, no matter what the propaganda is saying.. The honest research of Antarcita ice is undoubtedly showing, that the concentration of CO2 is always rising AFTER the temperatures has gone up througout last thousands of years, after NATURAL climate changes... And did so looong before there were any cars or factories etc. And after temperatures got higher, planet just got greener... In fact, all shows we are getting close to new so called "small ice age"... Amazing video thought, I saw youw camper in Lyngseidet last winter, really great car, you will miss it ;-)
