This is silly. If he buys things with Bitcoin, he's effectively selling Bitcoin. Does he track and pay capital gains tax when he pays for things? In addition to sales tax? I like Bitcoin as property, as investment. It's silly to get paid in "the dollar equivalent of my salary in Bitcoin". You are still being paid in dollars really. The dollar is fine as a medium of exchange. Just don't save wealth with paper money.
Think macro. The more we normalize daily use, the more adoption snowballs. If you’re successful at starting a movement it will certainly pump your bags. And spending btc to live is absolutely no opportunity cost versus how the rest of us live holding and spending dollars that are losing vs btc while they’re waiting to be spent. Technically we’re the lazy ones, if we’d jump in with 2 feet it’d help pump our bags without touching your long term holdings at all. He’s freaking right.
yeah, Im not buying burgers , beer or even a house w bitcoin. I use the deflating fiat currency dollar for everyday expenses and btc is for HODLing. That $20 burger could been worth $100 BTC in 5 yrs and that same $20 will be worth $15 or prob even less in that 5 yr period. Why would you use an appreciating asset for purchases ???
