These are great costumes and this is a modern representation of the movie.

      ethanjosephsumner2 just goes to show
That updating a timeless classic like the wizard of oz for a new generation and a new audience is completely worth the budget of this play in the exact same tone the movie's budget had back in 1939

$3 million in 1939 would be the equivalent of $49 million today, or about the average cost of a Hollywood movie these days. Not counting the blockbuster films with $100 or even $200 production budgets.
That said, these are pretty good costumes and sets for a high school production not to mention the performances are good, too. They don't come off amateurish.

musicaltheatergeek79 for a high school production of The Wizard of Oz in 2011 is almost the Equivalent to the Actual Movie in 1939 therefore the actors DO sound and act like Judy Garland's Dorothy Ray Bolger's Scarecrow Jack Haley's Tin Man Bert Lahr's Cowardly Lion Frank Morrigan's Wizard Margret Hamilton's Wicked Witch of the West Leslie Burke's Glinda Good Witch of the North with Spectacularly Movie Accurate sets the songs are the same and it stays true and faithful to the 1939 film and the L Frank Baum Book from 1900 which in turn had a stage production in 1903

I remember seeing a version like this in the Seattle Children's theater. They sang the song a little lower though.

Considering the movie cost $3 million to make in 1939, I'd say these costumes are great since the school didn't have that kind of budget.

@AgentHanSolo303 These costumes are pretty awesome for a school musical. Not everything can be Broadway, you know.

I was actually so shocked to see a High School Production, with less impressive costumes than a hollywood movie.
