I'm hyped for this one. I don't care if I'll cry, I'm a sucker for a good story even if it breaks my heart. I'll probably pre-order. It makes me happy that developers finally noticed western audience.
It’s easily in my top 5 games now, so I hope you enjoy it! The way they combined fairytale-like story telling with sci-fi elements was really good! And I agree, we are spoilt for choice now 🥰
i love me a good disturbing vile story !!! thanks for the review, def peaked my interest! hopefully it will be picked up by a local team or maybe ill hit my jp learning so i can get my hands on the game faster :') .. or maybe ill watch your route videos haha.
I highly recommend it if you love disturbing stories XD I’m hoping it gets localised too 😭 it’s totally worth learning Japanese for it too tbh hahaha. Thank you for watching - I’m glad you found that the review peaked your interest 🥰
I am so curious about this one! I really wanna play it, I love these dark themes... I don't know why but I am so excited 😅😂🌸 I have to mention this, the art looks amazing...
I'm the same lol, dark, angsty and bittersweet games are my absolute favourite genre and this has all of that! So happy it's now planned for localisation - I can finally talk about it with more people!
Hmmm, I guess this will be one I'll skip out on because I don't like the idea of going through the bad routes to get to the good ending. I am one of those people that is like, "I get enough tragedy in real life, I don't need it in fiction." lol. It's a darn shame too because the artwork looks gorgeous. I take it the game does have a decent conclusion at least to where you solve the mystery right?
That’s fair enough - I think that’s what put a number of people off too! Esp as some of the “good” endings are arguable not exactly good. Yes, they conclude it beautifully, honestly, the storytelling was spot on and thats why I loved this game so much. It’s just a shame that the despair would naturally deter some people from playing it. I guess that’s what spoiler reviews are for though 🙂
@@RestingPeachFace still fairly early going, I don't think it's really firing on all its depressing cylinders yet. Also interested in Witch on the Holy Night, have you played that yet?
I just completed playing the entire game (Japanese version). The game focused on the Dramatic structure of narratives, and I loved all stories, both Tragedy and relief endings. If you cannot take a tragic end, I do not recommend you play. You cannot open the 2nd stage and 3rd stage or relief endings; although, I appreciated the mechanism. My favorite one was Yves. Thank you for the review. I hope this can be localized soon.
It would be nice! I am hoping this one gets localised too, a small part of me feels like it will be next year or the year after maybe? I’m hoping so hard 😂
I’m sorry, ANKOU ISNT AN LI?! I LIKED HIM THE MOST! GURL WHY 😭😭😭😭 Btw I’m actually playing Mathis’s route first. First of all, it’s been 3 days I’m playing his route. XDDDD I just reached to the part where we know who the masked person is. 😟 And I agree with you regarding Mathis. Like I didn’t like his personality if you know what I mean 🥲
I KNOW, I was heartbroken when I first started playing too. Although, he does appear a lot towards the end enough that you can see him as an LI. It’s hard to explain spoiler free until you’ve played it!
I am so bummed out that Ankou is not an LI. He would have been the main reason for me to buy the game, such a shame. Though the other characters sound lovely when you give them time to develop, so I might try to play it when my Japanese is a bit better, or if it is ever localized (Aksys might like it, they sometimes tend to go for the more... depressing games lol)
I totally know what you mean! 😭 but there’s kind of a good reason for it, so if you play it you’ll be like “eh ok, I guess that makes sense 😗” lol. Still frustrating though 😭 I’m feeling the same, or at least hoping the same about Aksys XD
@@RestingPeachFace Ah! It will probably make sense whenever I get to experience the story myself. Thank you for the heads up! Then I am not as disappointed. I look forward to it! 💕
@@maiadraconica6488 This is how I felt too 😭 but he’s still a big part of the story and has romance-like moments, so in a way I wasn’t disappointed? Although I still wanted him to be a full on LI 😗
I'm still working through Le Salut but my switch's charging and just wanted to hear more thoughts from others, and this video was so chill and nice! I'd love to see your other videos now :) I have a lot of thoughts on this game and I just really like it (tho not without flaws of course)!!! I wonder if, after 2 years, this is still one of if not your favorite otomes? And if you have other otome to recommend as a fan of Virche? I don't play a lot of otome and this was definitely one of the more story-focused "Visual Novel with otome on the side" ones I played lol, so wonder if there are other otome that's SOMEWHAT similar.
I’m happy to hear you enjoyed this video! For Virche, did you enjoy the extremely depressing side of it? Because if so, there is Even if Tempest, which also focuses more on the story than romance. I’ve made a video on that too. One issue is that it is known to crash here and there during the early parts, so I would suggest saving frequently. Another story focused is Collar x Malice, which I really enjoyed too! If it isn’t necessarily being depressing but more that you want the story over romance, then I would also suggest (off the top of my head) bustafellows, jack jeanne, and birushana rising flower of genpei ✨
Thank you for the review! 💗 I was craving a darker otome game and was thinking of making this my first unlocalised game. It seems that the bad endings in Olympia Soiree were not enough for me... *sadness* :"D However, I don't live in Japan. Do you have any experience buying switch games from another area and if you do, do you have any tips to bear in mind? :) Thank you for the always lovely otome content that you create 💗
Aww I'm happy to hear that you found this review helpful 😍 So I typically buy games from Amazon JP. They sort out the taxes and packaging when paying and it's super easy. One downside is that the tax/packaging can be expensive, but they do ship really quickly. I usually buy 3 games to make the most out of the postage and packaging. Buyee is another option, it serves as a proxy (a service in which people in japan purchase the product and send it to where you live), but I haven't personally used the service yet. Another is ZenMarket. If you're a bit worried about these options, there is ofc also purchasing digital. This requires making a nintendo account and paypal (with a fake jp address). I have included links on how to do this in the description of this video: ruclips.net/video/S-l0BwVDfOQ/видео.html Hopefully that helps, and let me know if you have anymore questions! 💕
@@RestingPeachFace Thank you so much! This definitely gave me some options to think about. I think buying digital will be the easiest for me, so fingers crossed I get my hands on this game soon :) Thank you so much for your help and looking forward to your future videos! 💗
That’s a really tricky question! Shuuen no Virche is spelt 終遠のヴィルシュ now normally the 終遠 part would be spelt 終焉 which means “the end” like signifying the end of ones life or the end of an event. Not sure why they changed it, but my guess is that the second kanji that replaced it is used in words like “eternal”, so like eternal demise or eternal despair? As for Virche, I don’t actually know 🤔
I bought this game and using google translate while playing it but I'm confused with the flow of the game. Do I need to complete the bad ending before doing the good ones?
Yep! There are 2 bad endings per route, you need to complete both for all characters before you can then do the “salvation” routes that are “good” endings (although some of them questionable whether good or bad haha).
When you laughed and said it is a depressing game I immediately wanted to buy it
I’m glad my laugh and mentioning of the game being depressing serves as a hallmark for the go sign 😂
This game seems to be everything I love!! Someone just localize it😭
Also the artstyle is amazing! Great review as always💕
