Thanks very much for uploading this. Is this as much of this game as you have, or have you edited it down from a longer version? I would love to see more of this game if it exists.
This was for a beamback to The Den. He did quite a few of these matches, and some club commentaries for Spurs, as well as a voiceover role for Channel 4 on the Italian football, but his last commentary actually broadcast on television was in 1979
Liverpool fans abused him a couple of year earlier at watford, as he has testified himself. So you are not worthy enough to take any moral high ground, it was a countrywide issue at that time.
@@jasonlatter8337 This isn't about club loyalty, this isn't about some tribal instinct to defend one's group. It is about common decency. Is your defence really 'everyone else was doing it, why not us?'
@@rstevens7711 No i am not trying to defend that mindset and didn't. However you chose to comment on a video of somebody else's football football match memories to make a point purposely to single out millwall fans for criticism on this subject. Therefore you obviously had an axe to grind about one club How more tribal can you get? Not sure how trawling through film of 1980s football games and making dopey comments is going to solve the problem of racism.
What a day never missed a game that season home or away loved it
I Was There, Great Time to be a Millwall Fan..COYL ☘🇮🇪
I was there, one of my most memorable games watching Millwall. Was crazy in the away end.
Well done that commentator give him a big hand for giving Millwall a nice build up well done and well done Millwall❗
I liked what the commentator said when he said the was ALMOST as good as the den.
its very tireing to relive that day.Great post.Thanks.
I flew home from San Francisco to be at this game.
I keep thinking he gonna say "there's some people on the pitch they think it's all over"...
I was there what a team we had then
I was there we stayed in Blackpool for the night a great day and a great season never missed a game home or away Happy days
Watched this one down the den on the big screen from cold blow lane end. Couldnt see sod all if i remember rightly, bloody Sun.
Atmosphere sadly lacking in the top flight these days.
What noise from Millwall 9:20 against the best team in Europe. Little old Millwall truly arrived
Wonderful. We will repeat it soon 🏴🦁🇬🇧

Is that Ken Wolstenholme commentating?!? I don't believe it, I thought he'd retired from broadcasting in the 1970s!
He commentated well into the 90s

1988 folks.
Not 1888.
And yet Barnes is racially abused by Milwall fans.

@@jasonlatter8337 I think you need to look up the meaning of the word 'trawling' Jason. I'm not sure you understand what 'purposely' means either.
