Patchouli is my favorite note, Psychedelique and Frederic Malle’s Monsieur are my favorites. Byredo’s 1996 Inez and Vinoodh is my most worn fragrance so far this year though.
Haven’t tried any of these. My first patchouli fragrance was Mugler Amen. But my two favorites that I’ve tried and own would be PDM Nisean and Frederic Malle Monsieur.
One of my favorite ingredients. In my opinion, the best patchouli fragrance is Hypnotique. I am a Jovoy fanboy, but I cant help it. Mentioning Incident Diplomatique, too, perfect. One great patchouli fragrance that doesnt get mentioned because of the strong burning smell is Terroni. Its there and strong, and it's my favorite fragrance, and I push it every chance I get. And, TF Noir is amazing. I wear it whenever it rains.
I am OBSESSED with Patchouli. It is definitely one of the sexiest notes in fragrance history. It takes an artsy, eclectic nose to appreciate it. just like with art appreciation. It is truly special.
I've noticed that I really like patchouli. Sometimes I even get a minty quality if I don't get a chocolate equality from it. I know it's in the mint family, maybe that's influencing me? Who knows. Anyway, that last one sounds really good actually. Might see if I can get a decant of it. Thanks!
Nice insight! As an entry I would recommend Mauboussin Homme (usually less than $ 25 for the 100 ml bottle - fantastic design); it's patch, lavender and cinnamon. For the more experienced noses the patch benchmark is a must in the collection: Reminiscence Patchouli. Launched more than 50 years ago and marketed towards women, it's unisex as best. To me it leans heavily masculine. Cheers!
I purchased Ursa from Tiziana Terenzi and it is compared to straight to heaven. Ursa smells good. I live 40 miles outside of Atlanta and when I want to standout, i put on 4 sprays and feel good. No compliments but who cares, I love the scent. Ursa smells woody to me.
Great list and Honorable mentions…. Burberry Man EDP is such an underrated fragrance… Indigo is very nice in the line as well.. very realistic mint and aquatic, very green and clean. No Prada Amber PH Intense..?? Great Patchouli scent…
This series of breaking down certain notes in fragrances with your recommended fragrances that uses that particular scent etc. is amazing new to the game and all out interesting and addictive keep it up ❤
Used to have a 7.5ml of Straight to Heaven, gave it away. Still have a sample of Crush on Me, and Nishane's Tero leans heavier on the sweeter side of that same scent profile, so I'm not rushing to add it - maybe once the pockets are far deeper and the collection is hitting 3 digits.
Justin can you review a recent fragrance I got. It's crazy good imo. It's very herbal, a bit woody and a bit of spice but also intoxicating to smell. I legit can stop sniffing my arms when I put it on. The fragrance is called Crystal Platinum by Molsheim & Co. It's a cheapie that I got at the mall for 40 bucks but I've seen it online for even less. That being said I feel that the quality of the scent is amazing and the packaging that it comes with is quite fancy too. I fell in love with this fragrance and think that maybe you would appreciate it as well.
JC, I've gotta say man. The new spot is looking real nice man, I like the set up. 👌 Wanted to ask if you've ever come across really nice display cabinets in your "Frag Journey"?
You’re getting the hang of smoothly implementing meme culture ( a la Druski at 10:48 ). As an early Gen Z’er, I must applaud you😂🙏 Great vid as per usual-sidenote I wore Brass & Soul for the first time in a while and I think it slightly macerated as it smells even better than I remember haha
I sampled Incident Diplomatique after your endorsement in an earlier video. Liked it, didn't love it, but what it did accomplish however, is that it prompted me to try Psychédélique. Which I think is a beautiful scent!
Hello Justin, how are you? You always make the most interesting videos. TOM FORD NOIR IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE FIRST FRAGRANCES I PURCHASED AND I STILL HAVE IT. I DIG IT SO MUCH. GREAT JOB ON THE VIDEO AND LIST. THANK YOU AND STAY SAFE BROTHER AND HI TO GRACE.
I bought Electimuss Patchouli of the Underworld. I dont know if its the typical Patch but it smells good to my nose. It failed to live up to the black cat as its more of a black kitty but while its there its potent, rich and carnal. Shortlived underworld darkness but good while it lasted
I actually sprayed my sample of that the other day-it didn’t resonate with me. Actually came off too powdery and sweet on my skin, wasn’t as animalic as reports say. Not unpleasant, just not as complex as I hoped (on my skin).
@@stayfreshproductions no, i agree. Its supposed to be rich and dark but its more powdery and light. Since i dont know patch then maybe thats why im ok with the scent. It promised but didnt deliver. Oh well
Jovoy Psychedelique is definitely my favorite patchouli fragrance. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I feel it's at least a must sample for anyone who loves patchouli. Yves Saint Laurent Tuxedo is another great one too IMO.
As always, these series rock Justin! I personaly like patchouli as a supportive note, or when it is a little bit more on the front. Keep these kind of video's comming sir. It makes you unique and stand out. Also your choices are great and not like other reviewers. Your style of speaking/ presentation is somewhat calming to me. And I love the little twists and intelligent jokes in between.
Great video! Sometimes a fragrance journey begins with what you hate. Patchouli is one of those scents I first noticed on my dad's friend's cologne. It was revolting and I went out of my way to find out what it was. Every time I smelled it, I looked at ingredients, and "patchouli" kept resurfacing. I think it's also in the "scratch-n-sniff" sticker "bones". Not my cup of tea, but certainly one I run away from 🤪.
yet annother video of my favourite series so soon👏👏! I praised a lot of the others and refer to that instead of repeating it...🙂 Instead a question: What do you think of the "Molecule +"-collection be "Escentric Molecules"? They use a synthetic basic molecule and combine it with just one other note: There is "molecule 1" (i.e. Iso-E-Super) plus Patchouli, Mandarin, Iris and new releases Black tea, Guaiac and Ginger (I think). Could be a match for this series...I have no experience with these editions and am about to get samples...Quite interesting straight and minimalistic concept...there would be an idea for another video: the different takes the various brands take towards synthetics vs. natural ingredients (but that´s perhaps a bit to much niche...:-) thx and keep it up!
I think he implied Ursa when he mentioned clones of Straight To Heaven It would probably go in the enthusiast category since up top it smells like fresh landscaping mulch

Will have to try some of those frags. Love psychedelique, patchouli absolu and oud dream.
Another fragrance that would fit on this list is Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special. I would luv to hear what you think about this one.
Master piece 🔥🔥🔥

I fully agree, patchouli Réminiscence is really outstanding and that is what I’m wearing right now ….

I would add Givenchy Gentleman original 1974 to the list. That one is really really nice.

Not gonna if you happen to not mention Carlisle (11/10) would start a revolution.
