next time i come back we go on the boat! run two boats if gotta! kyle can be boat man! all pumped after watching this and sitting in the office all day!
Great Video Garrett! I spearfish in Sea of Cortez, this makes me JEALOUS! Maybe next time I go to Hawaii I go to the Big Island!!! Are you from the Big Island?
Insane BI action bu! Just curious, hauling those big boys back in must be scary ah? All those vibrations and blood must attract some big sharks? Tyygahs!?!
Aloha Garrett, great footage. I live up in Honokaa and would be stoked to dive w/ you guys sometime. Got no regular dive partners and I don't dive alone.
Hey man I got a 90" Cressi sub spear gun is that a decent gun?,I'm an amateur free diver but I only go on the reefs & I've been around sharks but it doesn't scare me..But can you offer tips on how to make the fish come closer for a good shot, because for some reason I'm thinking my gun is too short but I don't want to get a long one the fear of it getting stuck in corral..
your gun is a little on the smaller side, ( less range) but it will teach you to be a better hunter in the water, in Hawaii the key to bringing in fish is bottom time. when we go for reef fish, we lay on the bottom and let the fish come to us then take a shot, we don't chase the fish. while laying on the bottom, some basics to try and bring some fish in are dusting, (kicking up sand with your hand) it sparks the fishes interest, grunting (calling the fish in, this takes practice), or hiding behind a coral head or something.. good luck! go check out our other vids to episode 2 and 3! Aloha
