Anastacia was so robbed of winning Record of the Year 2004, I will never forget the climax in the voting where one region was left to announce to their votes/points. "Left Outside Alone" was narrowly leading and needed 8 pts(3rd of 5th) to clinch victory, but then as the spokesperson started reading the scores in suspense... Anastacia got 6 pts(lowest score) loud gasps and cursing were heard across the studio audience and I couldn't believe it either! McFly & Busted(who were annoying pop rock bands raved by tween girls at the time) were in contention to win and Busted got the last 10 points and final scoreboard showed just 2 points separated the Top 3. It was a complete shock but joke at the same time, I won't mention what Busted song beat this classic cause it was horseshit and I was only 11 years old at the time and my taste in music already matured. then a month later Busted broke up, fast forward to now Busted made a comeback no one really cared about while Anastacia is still recording and touring plus making loads of different TV appearances, she was the real winner of UK's ROTY 2004 after all, no wonder ITV axed the special award show the year after, what started off decent became a female popularity contest...
Wow! I miss the times when the recorded song and the live version sounded the same! Respect to this lady! Now that's talent!! nowadays everything is modified... It's insulting to see the new artists who are given so many awards sing live and completely fail at it.... They have fans all over the world, and they can't sing to save their lives! lol terrible

You think it's due to their vocal technique or breath control? Because even Christina Aguilera who has a huge voice doesn't sound exactly the same live.(becomes pitchy and screamy at times)

I think Smakowy intended a compliment with that post, as far as I'm concerned her voice is great in all her ranges. It's so gutsy and soulful I wish she'd do a classic 60's soul covers album - can you imagine how good that would sound!
I dont think her career flopped. Sometimes people need a break from their busy life. She got marry and having family. It doesnt matter as long as shes happy. I belive oneday she ll be back with another smash hit.
