This chick was over the house and said check this new girl out. She has a sound that is cruchy like Janis mixed with some BB blues. I was like fuck yeah. We all spent the rest of the night listen to ZZ and drinking jack...good night. Her music rocks. The fact most of what I have found is live studio recordings is incredible. A++
That comment "Damn I just fell in love with a voice".... That's exactly what I said to some friends when I discovered ZZ. Alana Miles and KT Tunstall were close, but damn!... ZZ is everything! I get home from work with a hoarse voice from singing along with her CD (which I bought the very night I heard the rest of her music; Put The Gun Down is getting radio play here. That's what made me search her out).
ZZ sings from her soul and that is so rare these days. What an incredible voice! I am a major fan and wish her a bright future. The music industry needs REAL talent like hers because it is far too stale these days.
She rocked a venue full of '50+ year-olds in Birmingham there to just see Clapton. That, my friends, was amazing to see. Would love to see her again. Next time she comes the B'ham, everyone will just be there to see her!!! Would be great if she played a smaller venue, like the Alabama Theater, Work Play, or Steel City!
So many compliments I could bestow upon this wonderful musician, however, I'm most impressed that she sounds best live and or acoustically. Testament to a true artist when her own vocals can carry the instruments.
Is everybody sleeping? How come I just found out about this blast of R&B? Wake-up everybody! Have been passing it to my friends. Did my share. Have you done yours?
I've had this whole album since it hit iTunes 1 1/2 yrs ago. This how I clear my head when things start to get at me. This what gets me going in the gym and on my cycling rides.
On first listen, she reminded me of a mix of Amanda Marshall, Buffy and Serena Ryder, all mixed up in a wonderful fusion of femme fatale. Love her sound.
Any of ZZ's fans rippin' on Freddie really should stop, cause you're making yourselves and by extension us (ZZ Ward fans) look stupid. "Criminal" is ZZ's words & melody over the music from Freddie Gibbs' song "Oil Money". It was originally on a mixtape she did called 11 Roses. He liked it so much that he joined her for the version on "Casket".
❤ hey Suzanne,?¿... it's mc1 cody.. hell ., was that name.., mi 'satan. 4 real.. '' New York was and because gangster to gangster.. hey grace;may V. 143 2 dude... Ps from mi cody
In the right contex its a compliment, when someone first said it to me i was like what? but its a compliment in some cases, saying someone is really good.
Those who love this tune will love "Charlie Ain't Home", and her cover of "Grinning in Your Face". Her shows are great, as are her fans. I love this...
Her not being more famous is a crime
I am such a fan of both ZZ Ward and Freddie Gibbs. Glad to be around to enjoy such talent!

Me and my wife met her a few years ago, she is a really nice, down to earth lady. And that voice is butta
Freddie gibbs with a live band is a certified banger everytime
Thank you for clarifying this for the ears too soft to appreciate Gibbs as much as Ward does.

Freddie Gibbs is one of the best rappers out there!!!
So many compliments I could bestow upon this wonderful musician, however, I'm most impressed that she sounds best live and or acoustically. Testament to a true artist when her own vocals can carry the instruments.

I love this. ZZ's voice is so soulful and the band compliments it
I don't know the proper adjective that describes how much I love your music
RAP is Rhythm and Poetry.. the jazzy but earthy style of this song is a great foundation for the Rap-Break ... bomb.
Freddie Gibbs - the gangsta affiliated hip-hop Artist.
Is everybody sleeping? How come I just found out about this blast of R&B? Wake-up everybody! Have been passing it to my friends. Did my share. Have you done yours?

she is it. Nobody better.
She's the boss. Period.
Great voice and soulful melody. Solid performance that has a decent blend of blues, jazz and rap.
How did I not know of her earlier? Sing it ZZ!
How is she a hipster artist? She's a straight legit blues singer who loves hip-hop.

She KILLED it at Shaky Knees this year.
I've had this whole album since it hit iTunes 1 1/2 yrs ago. This how I clear my head when things start to get at me. This what gets me going in the gym and on my cycling rides.
