Haven't managed to shoot a 725 yet, but I've shot a few 525's and they were pleasant enough overall (with a few bottom barrel misfires noted on each). I've personally gone for the 686 Sporting and added extended chokes/extended recoil pad to make it more 'mine'. Feels very smooth and precise to shoot, and despite having a few shots with the DT11 and SL2 recently, I'm not feeling like it's lacking anything.

You’ve made that 686 your own, but when you get your hands on a 725, you’ll feel the extra power and balance. Keep those barrels clean, and you’ll shoot like a pro.

The Browning Citori 725 comes in several configurations. There are field models and sporting clay models. I have a 725 sporting model and a 725 Pro sporting model. The straight 725 sporting model does not have an adjustable stock and the Pro model is adjustable and comes with weights to better balance the gun. The pros of the 725 are reduced felt recoil, sturdy receiver construction and “fixable”. You can easily replace the firing pins, and springs when necessary. If you shoot a lot, the firing pins will be degraded by certain shell primer blowback. Both Browning and after market replacement parts are available. The cons, are light strikes on shells (or misfires) if the hammer springs are worn or the firing pin chase in the receiver is dirty with powder blowback and oil/grease junk. If you own one, you have to learn how to fix it. There are several uTubes that show how. The other con is that the receiver and stock fit is not as good as it should be. I’ve seen a few with cracked or broken chips out of the stock, including my own Pro Sporter. Browning did replace the stock at no charge, but it took several weeks to get it back. When, not if, you remove the stock, make sure it seated against the receiver and the stock bolt is tight. If not, the stock will get broken. I’ve also heard a couple of folks that have barrels that don’t shoot straight. Browning will fix this also, but expect it to be at the factory for 8 to 12 weeks. If you get a good one, and learn how to properly fix it, you will love it. Best value in my opinion. Also, the other guns break too. If it is a Beretta, send it to Coles in Florida. Don’t send it to Beretta in Maryland. Coles know how fix Beretta shotguns. If you shoot competitive sporting clays and 5 to 10 k rounds a year, ALL guns need serviced every two to three years which includes firing pins and springs. Hope this is helpful.

Don't comment on a gun you know nothing about the browning can beat all other brands if the shooter is good
