- I'm directing the music video for I Kissed Someone (It Wasn't You) which comes out April 21st at 7pm. And I decided during preproduction to make a gallery wall in my room, as you do. Join me as I stumble through it and tell you a bit about the video.

I’ve recently redecorated my room and we did a gallery wall (well, more of a print wall than a gallery wall) and I ordered a personalised text print with an Out Of Love quote - “in one of the colourful plant pots in the corner of the balcony, among the brown, dying leaves is a sliver of green. ‘Remove the dead leaves, cut them right back. It’ll feel like you’re killing them but you’re not. You’re just getting rid of what they don’t need to help them grow.’” - it’s honestly so beautiful and I love it. Anyway, I’m going to enjoy the rest of the video now :)

Okay so tip for anyone doing a gallery wall: cut pieces of paper to the size of the frames/canvases and tape them to the wall, that way you can figure out the layout and also work out where to put the nails easier (measure where they need to be on the frame and mark the paper, put the nail through the paper and rip it off to hang the art
It’s too late now, but for others, I recommend cutting paper the size of the frames and marking where the hanging part is. Then you can play around with the arrangement and visualize everything before you put a ton of holes in the wall. Credit: Ariel (Try Guys Ned’s wife)

I'm really stressed right now because I need to finish writing a monologue that could make or break my course grade (and by default, my entire theater degree as well cuz college b like that) but this video was a lovely little break for my mind. there is something about listening to you talk about nothing and everything at the same time, that is just so calming. so thank you for helping me destress just for a little bit.

9:05 honestly just love this videos cause it feels like spending time with a friend so this works for me, especially in a period where my anxiety is so high i feel like i can't breath, damned work and love and money problems.
the TIMING of this video is wild- I just received about 9 prints in the mail today (to be fair I only ordered 8 and the artist threw one in for free :') bless her) and they're all different sizes so thank you for the inspiration Hazel!! I'll now be shopping for frames for the next month or so 😅

My 2 tips! 1. You can cut out the size of the pictire frame and mark where the hook goes on the paper then blu tack it up, pop the nail in and take off the paper 🙂 2. You might also want to use command strips, less permanent so you can easily move them around and all you have to worry about is getting them hung straight! Much love ♡

How much technical knowledge should a director have? I've written some short films and I want to get made, which will be my first, but I don't have much technical filming knowledge and don't know if I need to get some training or not. Any advice be appreciated.
