They will grow back! My grandpa's olive groves in Greece were burned in a big fire in 2000, he worked hard and everything came back within 5 years. The earth is strong and resilient.

@@aussiebushgirl1829 he was a fighter. He passed 2 years ago but we will remember him for his resilience and positive attitude. He worked the land for more than 70 years, since he was a kid.
I absolutely LOVE that you had lunch with the family (previous owners) after signing the deed. It must have been hard for them to let go of property that's probably been in their family for generations---but that no one has the interest to care for. They must feel a sense of joy to have a young (growing) family who is interested in bringing it back to life and building a new community. I'm sure so many Italian families have been approached by developers only interested in greed, so you Sara, Luca, and Luce must be a true blessing to them. ♥💛
Wow, it's amazing to see Luce changing so fast from week to week, talking away and growing up. She is precious and such a joy to watch, so sweet she's making homes for the animals. When I see Papa and dtr clean the olive tree trunks area together, I think of her as an adult talking about how her parents taught her to love life to include the earth and land. You both are amazing and wish you much peace and all the joy of life you richly deserve. ❤

I love people who are stewards of the land. They show so much love and other people should know that they have to do something for Mother Earth!!
Even if the remaining olive trees on the new property don't produce olives next year, you will have the peace of mind that you are able to clear the land and make it and your original property safer.
Our little town(Castelbuono) is world renowned!! The idea of donkeys helping to collect trash along with the little trucks was brought by the current mayor many years ago.
A new beginning for a young Italian family to continue the beautiful heritage and culture of Sicily!
Life is so short, when we are all old and gone from this earth, Luche and her sister can continue the tradition. (and one or two more beautiful children 😅😅). They will watch this video to see when their parents bought the property. 😊 I hope more young people could also work to preserve the heritage and culture of the island and protect the olive trees for thousands of more years to come! i would hate to see it get lost after thousands of families worked hard to preserve the land. It is such a unique and beautiful island, with so much incredible human history.

When we were children we had a huge fig tree… if we climbed to the top, we could grab a large branch and jump to float nicely to the ground. The 427,000 acre (173,000 hectare) Park fire burning now in N. California was started by a guy who was drunk. He pulled off the road into dry grass in a primitive city park in the wooded Sierra foothills. His catalytic converter started the grass on fire. He was driving his mother's car and pushed it away from the burning grass and it rolled into a gully. Unfortunately, the car had already caught fire and that's what started the 4th largest fire in California history.

I wish Luca had a permanent helper for all the projects. He seems to be the kind of guy that wants to do everything himself, and that is very admirable, but I worry about him doing too much.
He needs to make his health a priority. I made the mistake of putting labor above health , and It is not good for me now.
In the UK we have mobile homes that can be used as a home, they can be placed on the land , I wonder if it's similar in Italy? A super way to enjoy the land .

Please leave at lest one of those ancient olive trees ‘unpruned’ as an historical exhibit rather than heavily pruning it to become productive. A huge/ancient unpruned olive tree would be incredible to see. It may not produce many olives or make a return on investment but it would be a true historical, ‘landmark exhibit’ for future generations.
