I feel like this would have been more enlightening with a real world example and counterexample. It seems like this definition includes any app with an API backend and any kind of per-channel rendering. But wouldn't CSS media queries be an example of per-channel rendering? I know they aren't separate, but neither is the app layer in the example. Just swap the CSS queries for a Lambda function. Is it really that different on an architectural level? I'm sure I'm missing something here.
