Dharamlall Rape Accuser Speaks Out

- Sarah Hakh made several damning allegations, including sexual misconduct, against former Minister of Local Government Nigel Dharamlall today. The former minister has had such allegations leveled against him in the past and has always maintained his innocence. Ms. Hakh stated that she has made a report to the police and was advised that the police are awaiting a legal opinion.
"I have known Ms. Hakh personally for several years and have always maintained a most civil and cordial relationship with her, including socializing on many occasions. Her demeanour towards me changed fundamentally after I rebuffed her advances and spurned her attempts to engage in an intimate relationship," the People's Progressive Party (PPP) central executive member said in a statement today, as he rejected the allegations.

Seem the victim was under duress for the fear of losing her job and therefore was partially complicit to some extent by force. Unfortunately in Guyana some are protected and therefore can get away with just about anything. This allegation should be reviewed for authenticity and possible appropriate action.

This should have been reported to the police station in Anna Regina and no other police station since the first incident according to Sarah occurred in the Anna Regina State House. The former Minister is not an employer and so Sarah or no one else be it male or female should not be directed to him for the promise of a job. As was reiterated to me-The Public Service Commission was constitutionally set up for those seeking employment in the Public Service.
Proceed to the court and let the judge look at both of your private evidence and make a judgement.

It must be pointed out about the break down of the established constitutional process of hiring public servants. Further investigations are certainly warranted and there are some inconsistencies, however the heavy participation of opposition forces and accusations of reportedly negative comments by Priya Manikchand gives rise to thoughts ot political assasination. The President needs to insist on an investigation and the party needs to distant themselves from Dharamlall. He is tainted and damaged goods.

Not doubting your allegation against Dharamlall but what is disturbing is why did you not report the matter at your earliest opportunity but waited so long to come forward. Your action warrants an explanation. Law enforcement functions more efficiently when the evidence is fresh and the scene of the crime is undisturbed.
She did report the matter at Sparendaam police 👮 station, and when they heard he was a government minister they ask her to go to Police headquarters-eve leary , then those at eve leary direct her to visit cove and John police station where the report was finally taken .
