    This was interesting, thank you for this one! I have been curious how long it takes before it needs reset, have you noticed does the amount of activity have factor how often you need to reset? Like If you do more chilling out is it still around 10minutes or will it double?

    • @ZRock35VR
      @ZRock35VR  Год назад +3

      Activity does directly affect drift - the more you move, the faster you will notice the drift accumulate. I would say with the BNO08X trackers I use, if I am just laying around, it can easily double or triple the time before a reset is needed!

      4 on the legs ... 1 on the waist and 1 on your chest.
      It's the 5+1 setup which gives you better tracking of your upper body if you want to do some dancing. The regular 5 only does your waist and legs.

      Follow the Calibration Guide very closely, everything in there is important. If that doesn't help, the helpers in SlimeVR discord are good at assisting with issues, and it allows embedded pics/videos to show what is going on. RUclips is kinda oof for tech support ngl

      Slime VR is relatively cheap! A vr set (quest 2 for example) is about double the price as slime trackers! I haven’t personally gotten my trackers yet, as they’ll (hopefully) arrive sometime in august, but for a 6 pack being 198$, I think it’d be a good starter from seeing these videos! The smallest pack (5) is about 165$

    Which one do I buy to like get good quality??😭

    • @ZRock35VR
      @ZRock35VR  Год назад +2

      If you mean trackers, it depends a lot on what you are going for - 6 trackers using BNOs is decent for legs/upper body, but doesn't have foot rotation or elbow tracking, 8 adds foot rotation, 10 is that plus elbow tracking. I personally don't use foot rotation much at all since my regular avatar now doesn't really need it (tiny feet), but I do like elbow tracking for more expressive dancing.
      Good quality is a little subjective, different people want different things - some people want absolute accuracy, which Vives are still better for, but cost more.

    these movements are too careful i wanna see the tracking being used how it would be if it was someones main trackers, i wanna see running around, jumping jacks, kicking, spinning, etc i think theyre great for a cheaper alterantive starting set for trackers but if theyre only good while being babied there not good just my opnion tho ^^

      Funny you should mention that, I just did a practice with my VR band, the RGBeanZ, and was doing just that kind of stuff - working on a video showing it now!
      Also for what it's worth, I lead yoga, dance classes, and other activities live in VR every week - plenty of action being used as main trackers, jumping jacks, kicking, spinning, all that stuff.

      @@alya8366 I feel that - I thought about it, and you are right - I was being a somewhat careful in this video because I needed to see how stuff looked to compare things to later, as well as my trackers being DIY so if I get too wild I can sometimes have issues (my own bad soldering tbh)
      I can't wait for official trackers, they should be far better quality than my jank DIY ones lol

    Why can I buy them??

    • @ZRock35VR
      @ZRock35VR  Год назад

      The Official SlimeVR trackers are available to pre-order, however because of over 9000 backers having already pre-ordered, there's a massive backlog that the company is working through at about 1000-2000 sets per month. So if you pre-ordered those now, you could expect to get them sometime early next year.
      Early backers (from 2021) are already getting sets and using them, I have been using ones I built myself from parts for over 2 years but recently got a review set directly from the company that I did a review on recently.
      There are DIY sellers of Slime sets in the marketplace forum channel of the SlimeVR discord server, which have much faster shipping, but that requires you to look into it yourself and learn more about what they are offering - not all Slimes are made using the same parts!
      Hope that helps!

  • @LightningJack
    @LightningJack Год назад

    I've been using slimeVR for a couple days, and I cant ever seem to get tracking quality along the line of yours. The tracking is good, I just don't know whether my proportions are wrong, or whether I'm just not used to calibrating yet. I'm using BM160 chips for reference. Do the trackers you use just have better hardware? I may also just be a perfectionist because I know VRC processes the movement and it displays much more smoothly for other players.

    • @ZRock35VR
      @ZRock35VR  Год назад

      Check out my most recent video, it's basically all I do - my trackers do use BNO08X boards, which is the same as the official slimes, and they are considered the "best" currently supported, but generally speaking BMI-160's should track the same (I have BMI-160s as well, and they were fine for me, although they did drift faster over time, not terrible, but not as good as BNOs)
      If you follow my video and still have issues, ping me in the SlimeVR discord (tech support channel or calibration best) and we can try to figure out what is going on. It may be that your BMI-160s need to be recalibrated, there's a thread for that in the DIY channel that has video guides for how to do so.
      I also host "Calibrate + Chat" events in VRC every Friday for live tech support, you just missed the last one but they are regular so feel free to join the SlimeVR VRC group - I am always willing to try and help my fellow slimes get better tracking!

      @LightningJack Год назад +1

      @@ZRock35VR I updated to the newest version and did an automatic cal and it's honestly been great ever since, I find once the trackers warm up a bit they drift less too which is a weird observation I've made.

    • @ZRock35VR

      @@bunnysabop That's pretty much what everyone does to work around this issue, but that doesn't fix the problem of foot sliding.
      To explain, the avatar's foot bone is what connects to the floor, not the bottom of the high heel, so it ends up being that your foot is not connecting correctly to the floor for the "anti-skate" to kick in properly.
