I have a flute I've made myself, and now I'm researching how to make a lyre
Your video has given me some ideas for my lyre and shown me a cool way to create melodies on the flute
    Thank you so much :)

this is so helpful, thank you for the thoughtful and thorough review of these harps. My daughter is in love with the harp and we are thinking of getting one of these for her 5th bday.

I live in Southern Alabama. The culture is quite different here. I am orginally from Birmingham, Al. There is a Waldorf school there. But it looks like I will be in the southern part of the state for a while. I have a one-year-old son and a fourteen-year-old daughter. And I love the Waldorf style. I'm a former homeschool mom and plan on homeschooling my son too. I will be ordering the harp along with some other items. Both have a birthday coming up soon. :)

Wow! I had no idea about this harp. I'm learning so much from your videos. Thanks so much for all the information. By the way, I will be making an order soon! I may even purchase this harp. My daughter has been asking about a harp lately. She is going on 14 soon, so this will make a perfect gift. I wish there was a Waldorf school where I live. Unfortunately, there is not :( This makes me so sad. I would love to send my son to one. We have a Montessori school and that is about it.

    Your explanations are very good.
A lot details, I am very thankful for your information in your video. I will buy one to play. It will be a less expensive than a real harp; I think.
    Suggestion:
Joining a toastmaster club in your city will dramatically improve your presentation skill. Therefore, you will increase your sale dramatically. You are a very nice lady. Hope you will be successful. We all learn and grow. Best wishes. Jung Jing

What are the string gauges for your three shown models? They are gorgeous, yet simple, and definitely wondrous :)

I just bought the Choroi children's harp and am trying to find out how to tune it but was distracted by your perfect pink walls. They're lovely! I know it's off-topic, but can you tell me the name and brand of paint you used? This would look lovely in our playroom. Thanks!

I am a little confused, could you please clarify this? Are all lyres tuned in the pentatonic scale? I can’t seem to find any information that confirms this. I have been finding online different types of lyres, but none of them specify that they are tuned on the pentatonic scale. Is this because this is something obvious? Sorry for the dumb questions, l am obviously a beginner and haven’t been finding the right information

You can have both regular tuning or pentatonic...as the pentatonic is easier to play or make up tunes with, which is a great way for most to learn with right away. Otherwise, there are other tuning for these smaller harps. Hope you enjoy! Cheers!

so essentially can I get any lyre and tune it pentatonic?@@vickikgibson9470

What is the name of the mode in which it is tuned?.

    A pentatonic scale is 1, 2, 3, 5, 6. In the Key of C it would be C, D. E, G, A.
In your description you outline a scale of G, A, B, D, E (no C and no F) which is also a pentatonic scale, but its root is G, not C. You cannot have a pentatonic scale in C if there is no C. Either one will work for the uses you describe, but if you plan to play along with other instruments, it's better if you tell them you are playing the pentatonic scale in G. Hope that helps.

can you tune any lyre in pentatonic scale even if it has more than 5 strings?

    • @itsbobfoster
      @itsbobfoster 9 месяцев назад

@@waiting4rain Yes, but this will increase the range of the instrument, so you need to check to see if you are still getting good sound from the strings you have re-tuned. If the lower strings seem too loose, you should change them to slightly thicker strings. Conversely, if the upper strings are very tight, or so tight that they break, you need to use somewhat thinner stings.

Lyre's coordination is often loosened. There's a video of coordinating with glue. Can I do that?

My Lyre from Steiner School has 13 strings, how do I tune it? What strings do I buy to replace the broken one? (The heaviest string is broken). Any help would be so greatly appreciated! 🙏🏻🌱

I'm a beginner and want to learn. In my church we have a piano and would use the c note. I'm confused how to play with the piano if I don't have a c note. I want to learn and teach my Sunday school class this instrument if I could learn myself. Which one of these lyre harp could be turned to have the notes A through G which is the diatonic. Please help me. I'm confused.

Hi Cheryl! We carry a lyre at Bella Luna Toys that is tuned to the diatonic scale. Here's the link, I hope that helps! www.bellalunatoys.com/collections/musical-instruments/products/12-string-diatonic-lyre

Esse instrumento é muito bonito, mas acho muito limitado por conter poucas cordas e não ser possível tirar mais sons em uma corda.

Turn the 10 string lyre around , bcz the widest & highest arch should be flush to the body and please don't list the notes backward.
