Derek Pearson because of the murky water of Louisiana I have better luck with black and blue and in certain times of the year a white or white both with gold blades. Or white and chartreuse
When I was a kid, I didn't like Spinnerbait until I saw a guy walk to up next to us, casted a white/char Spinnerbait 5 times, hooked up 5 bass @ about 3-4lbs, strung them and went home. This was 30+ years ago. I still have 1 tied on at all times today.
My first lures when I was a teenager were spinner baits and I fished them non stop 365 days a year for like probably the first 5 years that I was bass fishing and I learned so many different ways to fish it I’ve dragged it on the bottom and I’ve fished it in the middle of the water column as well as ripping it in on the top like a buzz bait I think it’s the most universal and I always tie it on for my nephews when they want to throw around a lure that doesn’t get snagged
Even though you're an Aggie, I think you work hard and really try to teach the younger generation the tips and tools of fishing that you learn. Plus your finally getting on the blade bus. Spinnerbait fishing can be absolutely phenomenal for catching big bass in the right situation
I have so many spinnerbaits that I've never even tried to throw. Haha! I guess I'll give it a shot. When do you prefer a bladed jig over a swim jig? Or vice versa.
A two blade spinnerbait has more flash then sound. The top blade cancels out the bottom blade, as far as sound goes. A single bladed spinnerbait, is noisier. Try fishing a single bladed 3/8 ounce spinnerbait from the back of the boat, and of course a duel bladed spinnerbait in the front of the boat. See how that turns out
In Michigan, in creeks and ponds we have seaweed from the bottom to the top of the pond, anything that moves horizontally catch so much seaweed when I start reeling in how will I be able to use a spinning bait in this situation
A white and chartreuse with a small Orange Colorado blade is great in muddy water, I go with War Eagle baits not strike king, the SK don't put the fish in the boat like a WE
Hey man, I've been killing some largemouth on spinnerbaits, but I'm confused, the water in the ponds I'm fishing is already like in the 40s if not colder because we got some weather where it got into the single digits. Shouldn't the bass be going deep and not hitting a spinnerbait in shallow water. Not complaining or anything, but it's just confusing. Also I've noticed that the fish have been one and a half to two pounds haven't caught anything larger than that in a while.
Most of the time the fish that live shallow all year tend to be smaller, so when you catch a big one up shallow it has just moved there for feeding or for some other purpose. Sometimes Fish will do things that are confusing haha
@@TylersReelFishing I was wondering never seen it before, what are you throwing this time a year? I've had. Alot of luck on cranks but this cold front made me switch to finesse and I've had some luck. I mainly fish ponds,, could you look at lake carolyn when you get a chance and give me some pointers? Thanks
I never cared to use the spinnerbait either growing up cuz I saw it as an old head lure. New found respect this year as we’ve been hammering bass and the only they’ll hit is a spinnerbait. A $1 Walmart special no less.
So I have a question...I know we are talking about lures here but do you have a preference in poles? I was just wondering what poles would be better for what?
Thanks for all the knowledge you share, I have really been appreciating it lately man!! I have had some very good days with my spinner bait, such as in this video ruclips.net/video/jxngN2cYv5s/видео.html. Granted we are up in Wisconsin, so that changes things a bit. Keep up the great content. Thanks, Charley

I’ve heard so many stories like that!
Why do people not watch your videos??? Like these videos are literally the best fishing videos. Not even joking
I think people have trouble finding them sometimes. That’s why it’s important to get post notifications ON and bookmark the page
@@TylersReelFishing dang, youtube really relies on the post notifications.
I remember your videos when you were a huge no spinnerbait guy... fun to see you come back with this kind of video!
Haha for sure! You’ve been around a while
TylersReelFishing yea I’ve dabbled around the channel for a little bit
Love both, But Spinnerbait ftw! I use many different brands but my top 3 are - Megastrike, Hawg caller and War Eagle ;)
👍🏼
This is a great video. The Spinnerbait is definitely fantastic on Lake travis.
Yes It is!

Man I used to use the old spinner bait for so much back in the day. lol the swimbait has moved it over in a lot of places.
I like more of these spinnerbait vids because I have never had faith in these lures.
Thx for the great info Ty
I’ll make sure to make more like this
awesome man, i like the spinner more and more, its so good for catching big largemouth and spots from a few muddy log jammed creeks i fish at
No doubt!
Love your videos man they are so helpful. I’m a young fisherman and I’m trying to learn and your videos help me so much, thank you
I’m glad you learn some good stuff!
I KNEW THIS DAY WOULD COME.... how could you not like a spinnerbait? hahaha
Haha it just had to come with time

Love the spinnerbait!!
I truly enjoyed that information , something I've been pondering on! 👍
I’m glad!

Thanks so much for the kind words Bennie
Here in Minnesota i get more fish with a spinnerbait over a chatterbait in cold water right after ice out
Dang I didn’t know that. Good to know!
Does the green pumpkin chatterbait work in dirty water or do you prefer black and blue?
Black and blue
@@TylersReelFishing is this the same with jigs too?
Generally yes. Sometimes though, in really clear water black and blue can work
Would you add a trailer hook to a bladed jig ?
I do not usually

I could definitely make a video on that! I always have my rods and reels linked in the video descriptions though!
Which lews rods specifically do you use for each of these techniques?
All the gear I use in every video is linked in the description👍🏼
@@TylersReelFishing thanks but doesn't say exact model or technique rod out of the lineup
Tyler is officially a spinnerbait convert
Haha I guess so
Never had any luck on spinners or chatters. I just bought 2 chatters to try out so we'll see. The spinner was lost on my second time trying it.
