I'll give Samsung props. I can see that they are evolving and making all of their products more recognizable and more simple. Also, I'm glad that they worked with Google on the new Samsung Chromebooks, it's a step in the right direction and it will surely give Chromebooks a better image.
Jay Bugatti you're giving them way too much credit. All of these products were mediocre outside of the televisions. They didn't even list the specs for that gaming laptop in this video. The whole gimmick of some guy riding across the ocean with an S3 on his wrist is just weird and unnecessary. I'm actually rather disappointed. I also think they should be ashamed for using the word Pro on a device that comes with an Intel Core M3 processor. Even though it's a Chromebook don't call that shit Pro just call it a Chromebook LOL
Sir Awesomeness number one, who are you to tell me what I should think and say about Samsung, I am an individual and I think for myself. Number two, I never mentioned the gaming laptop or their new windows laptops, I only mentioned the Chromebooks as far as computers go. Their products do look more simple, their phones look more simple, their TV's, appliences, etc. Everyone uses the name pro, look at Apple, we all know damn well that oversized iPad pro is not a pro device, and we know that their new MacBook pro isn't nowhere near pro. We don't know if Samsung is using the pro for Productivity, or as in proficient features and specs. But they said they used the pro name to differentiate the less and more powerful models. So just calling them Chromebooks will confuse the buyer due to there being two different models, plus there are plenty more Chromebooks made by other companies. It's most likely advertised like that for a reason. And that's no disrespect, this is MY OPINION on some of Samsungs products at CES.
Eileen the Crow i know, im just saying most, not all. But if you look at things like Alienware or Origins, or Acers. are pretty heavy no lie. Some HP can be argued to be on the big side Razer and Asus i'll concede and say are surly slim
1050 for games, as I said, bad graphics card, thicker and less cool looking than msi vs63vr and razer blade which both have gtx1060, which I am thinking to buy, was hoping for a 1060 at least :/ for that design and that graphics card this shit must be cheap
Stevie V Warning warning the idiot Stevie V thinks that people care about he thinks...warning warning he may keep writing stupid shit waning warning...
unfortunately most consumers will not care. 1080p and 4k were easier to get consumers on board to buy, but OLED technology is a harder sale to the casual consumers. More expensive as well... What is the point when they can't make huge margin off consumers when they can do it with these tvs.
because oled is really prone to failure and you'll have dead pixels in no time plus the screen gets the channel logo stuck they could make an amoled tv but that would cost 1000000000000000000000000$ so yeah
Samsung really has some hot ideas this year. Very explosive designs. As I recall, things didn't go very well last year. they should really take notes, and try not to overcharge, or they might find themselves being banned for any high-flying ideas and a battery of problems.
OLED is Proprietary to LG, if Samsung want to produce OLED then they must pay royalty to LG and also OLED is hard to produce it. I agreed that LG wins screen technology. AMOLED is good for smaller screen and again it's Proprietary of Samsung, so no one can produce it.
Snake Bait that's a small feature, the big feature is allowing you to know what's in your fridge so you never run out, say you at Target and wants to make pasta for lunch. but cannot remember if you have anymore lettuce or tomatoes sauce or hot sauce well you can now pull out your phone and look
QLED right now is an upgraded LCD version. instead of having a having a white backlight with RBG pixels it has a blue backlight with RBG quantum dots. Next year they will produce a true QLED display, combining both the black levels of OLED and the brightness and colors of quantum dots without fear of burn in. this year they lost the battle of the best tv, next year they will double down on that.
Still waiting samsung. foldable screens for smartphones and tv. That is what we are waiting for. I know how hard it is. nake batteries and all parts flat and foldable also. but you can do it. We are counting on you. hehe
Samsung definitely has the best image processing for lower quality video. They make some amazing looking TVs with excellent picture. But they need to quit worrying about coming up with new gimmicky marketing terms and work on their QC. I bought a 60" KS8000 and received it 2 days ago. The picture is truly amazing and even looks decent with SD and 1080i video from Dish network (something that LG absolutely couldn't do 2 years ago in my experience). But the foot long, 3 inch tall section of light bleed coming out of the bottom of the screen, the cheap chrome film being peeled off the bottom bezel when I pulled it out of the box, and the flimsy gloss black back panel are some things that should never make it out of the factory. Especially not all of them in 1 TV. Unfortunately I bought the TV for Samsung Shop (although it was less than $900)so I will probably have to deal with them sending multiple technicians before they finally swap it out.
Samsung it's making great products, not everything has to be Oled. Samsung has great TV's the LG Oled in the store looks great, but in a regular home not so spectacular.
Jose A Avellanet I got an LG OLED TV screen and it looks spectacular at home, the best picture I have ever seen on a TV, from local channels, to cable, Blu-ray dvd, Netflix/youtube streaming, to 4k Blu-ray disks. It's actually all true what they say about OLED screens, couldn't be happier. Happy new year.
There will be a new version of QuantomDot LED Technology this year. And I hope that version will be more impressing than the currently QuantomDot LED Technology. And I prefer that Samsung is not using the OLED version, because the OLED versions lifetime is more less than the QLED or rather LCD/Plasma version. And who the hell would buy a TV for a less lifetime than the currently TVs, also if the picture looks incredible. So Samsung is going the right way. And I would be amused if they gonna do step for step way better with logic.
I like OLED to but they still have a significant achilles heel. Burn-in is still a problem & is something they're going to have to address. What's worse recently is the input HDR lag problem which makes it terrible for gaming. I don't think they were anticipating consoles were going to be so quick out of the gate to support HDR. LG seems to be getting the most flack on this. Since OLED is more susceptible to input lag then UHD. 4K HDR games while still few is even worse. Since most TVs don't have a dedicated HDR game setting as of yet. LG has said it is putting out a software update to address this. Samsung I'm not sure about because I don't know whether or not this is just an OLED problem. :/
Damn Samsung, So, OLED performance with higher brightness but worse contrast all while getting rid of burn in? I didn't expect this, sign me up, this is truly important when talking about longevity, burn in is an specially important problem on TVs
So the guy talking about washing machines is about 100x more passionate than the joker talking about TVs, who sounds like he is trying so hard to remember every buzz word. Surely samsung can find someone who works their excited about their products and have a bit of knowledge about their tvs.
No name world mobile Congress is when LG and Sammy will announce their new phones, so give them a month or so, predictions say that the flex phone won't be a thing till 2018 but I hope it's out this year. would love to buy one
No name if they didn't talk about it this year then they probably wants u to forget it or since there phones were catching on fire they probably don't want to talk about bringing a whole new phone
yay now I can control everything from my smartphone and the government can control everything they can even see what's in my fridge this is getting out of hand
about the qled tv he talked about mumbo-jumbo numbers and techs and color spectrum and I am thinking mmmmm its not oled so how about the blacks Mr samsung man lool
Andre N they do, but they said they wanna be 100% sure that the cause is that before announcing it, personally I think they are hoping an competitor falls for the same issue first.
Very few I had one in 2011 hardly used it weighed 9 lbs battery life was about 90 min without gaming. Sold it on Ebay a year later (Paid $1700) lost a grand on it.
akshay verma I had a Alienware (Dell) m11x with the well known bad hinge. It was nice for a year or two. Several repairs, referbs it turned out to be a expensive paper weight. I don't think my luck is good with gaming laptop lotteries.

Absolutely love that QLED displays, speakers, and gaming laptop. Looking forward for more great ideas.
So, I guess the real "news" out of this event is that Samsung joined the bloodbath in the gaming laptop category.
Thompter S. Hunson hey at least this laptop looks good.. most gaming laptop looks way too extreme and heavy
Thompter S. Hunson They made gaming laptop couple of years ago.
akshay verma Asus, Razer and HP have sleek gaming designs.
Eileen the Crow i know, im just saying most, not all. But if you look at things like Alienware or Origins, or Acers. are pretty heavy no lie. Some HP can be argued to be on the big side Razer and Asus i'll concede and say are surly slim
You cant unveil a gaming laptop and not give us any specks come on samsung!
optiprimas it is a bad graphics card, I do not remember it right now but it leaked
Igor Marcos it was a 1050 I think
optiprimas probebly windows vista 32 gb hdd intel pentium ha ha
1050 for games, as I said, bad graphics card, thicker and less cool looking than msi vs63vr and razer blade which both have gtx1060, which I am thinking to buy, was hoping for a 1060 at least :/ for that design and that graphics card this shit must be cheap
*specs?
Samsung should perfect the prices of their devices...
Sure. They'll start a charity and take home a paycheck like yours. Just for you.
Stevie V warning warning the idiot Stevie V is replying to comments...warning warning
Warning.... you're surrounded by poverty and unbearable odor....warning.
Stevie V Warning warning the idiot Stevie V thinks that people care about he thinks...warning warning he may keep writing stupid shit waning warning...
Here's $1 USD. Go buy yourself a week of food and shelter.
I didn't know Michelle Obama and Donnie Yen worked for Samsung
sinnerslight hahahahahahahaha lmao!!
I guess they look all the same to you, then?
highdough cereal dude? it's a fucking joke. although. admittedly. they did look like them. that's a compliment.
Everyone works for Samsung.
sinnerslight Believe it or not, something can be a joke AND racist.
LG's oled is still superior. LCD is dead. Admit it Samsung.
superior your ass!
unfortunately most consumers will not care. 1080p and 4k were easier to get consumers on board to buy, but OLED technology is a harder sale to the casual consumers. More expensive as well... What is the point when they can't make huge margin off consumers when they can do it with these tvs.
Bruh, and that's the real deal.
elukok the problem of oled is it gets deteriorate fast thats why they didnt made any tv for it, probably soon they will if they make it better.
because oled is really prone to failure
and you'll have dead pixels in no time
plus the screen gets the channel logo stuck
they could make an amoled tv but that would cost 1000000000000000000000000$ so yeah
SAMSUNG ITS BEST ONE for all new tech... Also for Design I love SAMSUNG
Samsung really has some hot ideas this year. Very explosive designs. As I recall, things didn't go very well last year. they should really take notes, and try not to overcharge, or they might find themselves being banned for any high-flying ideas and a battery of problems.
I can't freaking believe why Samsung TVs are not using OLED.
They are using OLED?
AMOLED
MOLED
OLED
AMOLED is simply a different type of OLED screen.
Gentéune Yeah cool, I know what AMOLED is. But do you have a source on it actually being the panel of these TV's?
Gentéune I just looked it up. It's not OLED. Doesn't have the same deep blacks and contrast. And it's cheaper to make..
OLED is Proprietary to LG, if Samsung want to produce OLED then they must pay royalty to LG and also OLED is hard to produce it. I agreed that LG wins screen technology. AMOLED is good for smaller screen and again it's Proprietary of Samsung, so no one can produce it.
appreciate the supercut I have to subscribe just for time you have save me
How does the one cable for the TV connect to 'all the other devices'?
Lenardz Ah, so like the LG Wallpaper TV. Makes sense.
HOW DID I EVER LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE MY FRIDGE COULDN'T PLAY MUSIC?!
Snake Bait that's a small feature, the big feature is allowing you to know what's in your fridge so you never run out, say you at Target and wants to make pasta for lunch. but cannot remember if you have anymore lettuce or tomatoes sauce or hot sauce well you can now pull out your phone and look
I am one with the force and the force is with me
Give us price for that gaming laptop.
Ok so I have a Curved UHD Samsung TV from 2014. Will there be a new One Connect and can get and plug right in?
Literally a Macbook Pro 13"
These almost modular tv systems are sounding goood
that laptop is yuk, This coming from someone who feels xps m1730 is beautiful.
"Great specs for a gaming laptop" doesnt say the specs
*GREASES HAIR BACK* *PUTS SPORTS COAT ON* "Sorry we blew off your ear with our phone. Buy these things with bigger batteries"
are they fireproof
what's that supercharge on samsung's laptops? is that some kind of overclock-on-the-fly kinda thing?
Daniel Yahalom i think it's for overclockjng. some gaming laptops have dedicated buttons to overclock the CPU
2SidedTech Oh. Never heard about such things before. The more I know i guess
QLED right now is an upgraded LCD version. instead of having a having a white backlight with RBG pixels it has a blue backlight with RBG quantum dots. got a ks9500 55 inch free a month ago. I LOVE IT
Still waiting samsung. foldable screens for smartphones and tv. That is what we are waiting for. I know how hard it is. nake batteries and all parts flat and foldable also. but you can do it. We are counting on you. hehe
Did I just watch someone announce a gaming laptop without mentioning the GPU or CPU spec? Epic fail.
Seems like Samsung won CES this year (not that there was much in the way of real competition).
That gaming laptop better not explode 🌝
3:20 Donny Yen from Rogue one ????

When is the CFG75 (Gsync version of the CFG70) coming? Release date anyone?
Samung is the Sony of 2010's
Samsung it's making great products, not everything has to be Oled. Samsung has great TV's the LG Oled in the store looks great, but in a regular home not so spectacular.
You've tried?
Jose A Avellanet OLED Is the future, you'll have to admit it
Jose A Avellanet I got an LG OLED TV screen and it looks spectacular at home, the best picture I have ever seen on a TV, from local channels, to cable, Blu-ray dvd, Netflix/youtube streaming, to 4k Blu-ray disks. It's actually all true what they say about OLED screens, couldn't be happier. Happy new year.
Jose A Avellanet I think in the store they have the TV's in demo mode that why it look prettier.
don't know about you, but I'm only here for the washing machines...@5.50.

1:02 hold up. Does that mean burn in and dimming are things of the past? If so, that's the final nail in LCD technology's coffin.
Is Siemens at CES?
Still waiting for OLED Laptop screens....... WHY HAVEN'T THEY APPEARED YET?

Damn Samsung, So, OLED performance with higher brightness but worse contrast all while getting rid of burn in? I didn't expect this, sign me up, this is truly important when talking about longevity, burn in is an specially important problem on TVs
Damn that persistent sponsor logo on top right corner... I thought Toyota is making home appliances now.
I want to know what kind of gpu in that gaming laptop...anyone have any idea?
The 15 inch has a NVIDIA GTX 1050 in either a 4GB or 2GB version. No word on what the 17 inch will feature.
Travis Cartwright-Carroll are you sure? I read it has a 940 MX.
it has a 1050. a 940mx doesn't even qualify as a true gaming gpu
Where is the Samsung A5?
when will cinemas stop using projectors and use Big ass OLed
damm salesmen, made me burn my morning toast
Any news on the galaxy "tab 3" ???

Buy all the Samsung products..blow your house😆
Here comes the bloat on the TVs lol

So the guy talking about washing machines is about 100x more passionate than the joker talking about TVs, who sounds like he is trying so hard to remember every buzz word. Surely samsung can find someone who works their excited about their products and have a bit of knowledge about their tvs.

jobe1105 When did Apple participate in MWC or CES?
John Parker Which is why Samsung is also ditching the headphone jack.

I thought its an apple event
Only one thing they added +
Ok...
The only 'innovation' are the Chromebooks...
Samsung still does not know what happened to Note 7. Geez
Andre N they do, but they said they wanna be 100% sure that the cause is that before announcing it, personally I think they are hoping an competitor falls for the same issue first.
Samsung you are going to have another shit year if you don't fix the light bleeding issues on your tvs
Great products but their delivery of the info is so blahhhh
Subwoofer inside the sound bar.....yea no thanks
l personally am not impressed with Samsung at all this year when compared with Lg technology. Lg has knocked it out of the park this year.
People really buy gaming laptops?
Very few I had one in 2011 hardly used it weighed 9 lbs battery life was about 90 min without gaming. Sold it on Ebay a year later (Paid $1700) lost a grand on it.
carbonunit yes, they do. Don't be an ass.
Dude, your getting a Dell
carbonunit I have one, but don't play games on it...
akshay verma I had a Alienware (Dell) m11x with the well known bad hinge. It was nice for a year or two. Several repairs, referbs it turned out to be a expensive paper weight. I don't think my luck is good with gaming laptop lotteries.
"Presented by TOYOTA". Seriously, Engadget?
justeyan what were you expecting...for it to say "Presented by Bugatti"?
lol
Ahhh shit Samsung just turned into Apple. Time to switch to Huwai.
"Keyboard with curved keys" lol my $2 Dell keyboard has curved keys. Nothing special about curved keys.
the root cause of the note 7?... the headphone jack... just saying... jk

Thank you. When will that take place?
I don't know who is copying who. LG OR SAMSUNG? SAMSUNG OR LG? Exactly the same products they announce. I think LG have better partners so I think is better. I don't know!
